my neighborhood FB group is far more active than the NextDoor group

Same. The most recent attention grabber for me was a woman's post complaining about carpool pickup at one of the elementary schools here in Collierville. It seems that there was so much complaining about kids walking through yards that a group of homeowners got their street blocked off for parking/driving during carpool pickup. Comment section got out of control with fights between the get off my law group and the stay carpool mom group.

There was also a big uproar about a fox with mange running around for a little while

I live a Plano, TX (a suburb of Dallas) and we very often have people that have spotted a "mountain lion". It's unreal how fricking stupid people are.

Now in their defense, I have seen a bobcat here and there, but that's a far cry from a mountain lion.

Usually about internet outages and dogs crapping in other peoples' yards.

Currently the usual topics are 1. Car Break-ins and vigilante justice schemes 2. Lost Dogs/Cats

The best of all time was a couple years ago people kept posting about finding "live feral cats in mailboxes". I always thought it was just a practical joke to rile up the cat hoarders, but someone else in the neighborhood told me that it indeed was real. I still don't know if it was real or not but had me rolling every time I saw it (went on for 6 months +).

"Lost Dog"

"Found dog"

"Crap for sale"

"Strangers selling crap"

"Anyone else's car gone through"

BR garden district, every other post is “gunshot?” and lost pets. Those topics are especially funny around the firework holidays.

Don't ever make the mistake of replying to one or liking it. I replied once and proceeded to get 150 emails telling me someone else had replied. Many of the posters are the same people every day. There are some definite weirdos on there.

I figured 98% of it would be about break-ins

mine has a whole lot of discussion about whether or not we should be allowed to feed the ducks. then once it became illegal, it turned into covert operations to follow and expose the people who came into the neighborhood to feed the ducks illegally

Our neighborhood grocery store was bought out by Robért and the busybodies will not give it a rest even though it’s been like 2-3 years and the new store is awesome.

Every so often I post “sorry you’re poor” or “sorry you can’t afford it” and then log off and never come back to see the melt

My favorite on mine was a woman trying to get everybody to boycott a certain Mexican restaurant in town because apparently one of the employees called her a fat bitch in spanish. Since it happened to be my favorite Mexican restaurant I posted their happy hour specials. She didn't like that.

It is one of the most openly racist internet forums. It's like people dont know their name is right next to the post, same as Facebook. Baffles the mind.
