A youth prospectively wants to study mechanical engineering. Minnesota has alot to do im sure. but its cold, and auburn seems more fun.

I'm not loving the current climate and general direction of the state of Minnesota.

Well, ackshully, it’s in Minneapolis AND St. Paul.

And it’s tied with LSU for closest university to the Mississippi River.

Make him visit in winter

Mid west summers are great.

He won’t be there during the summer.

No sure. I went to LSU. But I did go to Somalia for work once, and I didn’t really like it.

Minneapolis is a great city but Auburn is probably a better choice from an Engineering School standpoint.

Best advice is for him to go wherever it feels right.

Cities have become impossible to be great in my mind lately, especially Minneapolis.

It’s not new information to me or anything but dammit associating the Mississippi River with any state north of Missouri feels so damn wrong.

You aren't wrong but Purdue is probably a little better than Michigan and splits the difference between Minneapolis and Ann Arbor and the weather is slightly better.

If he wants to do Mech E why not go where the jobs are?
Michigan is ground zero for mechanical engineering. Like Houston for Chemical Engineering.
