I think cold and bland.
Idk anything about their engineering program though.
I do feel like there are probably more fun options.

If he wants to freeze his arse off to get a BSME, there are way better options out there than white guilt U.
-Purdue
-Michigan
-Illinois
-Northwestern
-Penn State
Honestly though, Auburn, LSU, Texas, Texas A&M are all really relevant engineering schools.

To me, this makes no sense.
I’m sorry it makes no sense to you. I prefer the country. I like to hunt, fish, backpack, and regular camping. I’ve spent enough time in cities (DC in particular).

Brother in law just left there as a professor and took a job at the University of Georgia. It is not the same school he started out at 18 yrs ago. Now they are more focused on SJW agenda’s than an education. Guess they did not like that he felt if someone pays for his course he should teach the course not SJW stuff. That is why he left.

It’s an excellent school.
But it’s in Minnesota

Minnesota is a highly ranked engineering school, but yeah Purdue is the top E school in the B1G.

How did Minnesota come into the picture?
Look at Iowa State they have a great engineering program without the "urban" campus issues.

It's a really good school, I'm sure they'd do great there.
Like others have said, in the Big 10 Michigan and Purdue are probably better for engineering though.

dude let me help you out here....unless you are going ivy league, gt, ND or one of the other top 10 eng schools do not waste your money going out of state.
go get the Mech degree and soend the money you would have spent going out of state on an MBA and getting the PMP.
or go get a eng/business or eng/finance double major
do that and you will have your coice of jobs and be making 6 figures by year 3.

if we are being honest, if he wants to work in texas or louisiana
those schools are better choices than any B10 school and anything outside of GT, Ivy, Cal tech, ND and a very very small handful of others.
Honestly if he lives in LA, he is dumb as frick to go out of state unless he gets better overall scholarship than tops provides.
go to LSU, Tech, ULL, McNeese and you will have zero issue getting a job with a Mech E degree so long as you are not a weirdo, have decent grades(even as low as a 2.5) and can atleast interview well.
after that what you learned in school matters a lot less than critical thinking ability and effort.
