With all the hate SWB and Latoya get (deservingly so) what would you say are cities out here that are run by competent mayors and you don't have to worry about them going to jail after they leave office.

Size qualifier: 10,000 people

I lived in Madisonville for 4 years and loved the town. Not likely they have 10k people though.

Lafayette is probably the last conservative city in LA so that gets my vote.

Metairie and it isn't even close. Low taxes, good police protection, well protected residential areas and right next to the tender box of the state. The reason it is so well run? It isn't even a city at all. It is completely unincorporated and does not have any elected officials. No Mayor, no city council, no police department, no city court, no fire department, nothing. It just goes to show you that you don't need a government at all to operate and maybe it is better to not have one at all.

I don't know if a city that just had Josh Guillory and then elected Kathleen Blanco's daughter as mayors is "best ran"

Mandeville, I guess?

I haven’t been up there much in five or so years, but things are definitely “nicer” there than anywhere else I’ve been
