I was there. Saw him on the Friday nite in Lake Charles on the 4th row. First time I ever heard Dinosaur live. 6 of us had tics for Baton Rouge on row 10 or so the next nite. Knew he was out of his mind immediately. He'd play a couple stanzas of something, then say I don't need that shite. Happened 3 or 4 times before he was escorted off stage. I hated missing the make yp show but the crew attested it was lit. It didn't get better than Bocephus live in the 80s and 90s

Was 13 going to Sherwood Middle and remember the news and footage. Random memory.

Did Skynard open for him? I saw him in Lafayette and a few years later in Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge he was messed up for sure.

My father told me this story when I was young every time he saw Hank Jr. Apparently got so drunk he could stand up.

Not sure of the year(would’ve been earlier than 89), but my step-dad went to a Hank Jr concert when he was in vet school at LSU. Said it was awful and ole bocephus brought a girl up on stage and humped her leg. That’s all I got.

Almost a decade later he played at the Cajundome in Lafayette with the likes of Travis Tritt, Jo Dee Massina and CHarlie Daniels opening up from him. Well being in HS at the time and listening to more rock than anything? I didnt know who Jo nor Travis were. So I stood by the keg til Charlie came on. Played an amazing show. Then I got to see Hunter Hayes come on stage for a small stint and Hank played 2 songs and I passed out. So I payed him back for all the times he got drunk to others.

I think the thread title should be changed to:
"Which TD poster drugged Hank Williams Jr in BR in 1989"
HWJR had private investigation into the alleged drugging. They found evidence.
I love his music but he sounds like an insufferable politician in the interview.

This made me lol I saw saw him probably that same "tour" at a fairgrounds in Ladson, SC. I remember my step dad was super pissed because he was only able to stumble through about 4 - 5 songs
My only real memory is his last song was country boy and he mumbled the words in what was almost like rapping it rather than singing it haha. He had taken his shirt off by then which was hilarious considering he looked to be pushing about 250lbs. Which looked pretty nuts with his jeans tucked into his boots. A roadie had to walk him off the stage about 3/4 of the way through the song

Hank was a frequent guest of a fella in NELa and played a private gig one December. Aunt and uncle were invited but couldn’t attend, they were told hank really embarrassed to fella with his antics.

Said somebody drugged him
He had similar episodes like that at other concerts back in the day.. All those people just kept drugging him..
I think he is an alcoholic right? If so, that had to be tough being on the road all the time doing shows and having a problem like that.. And like every other performer at the time, I am sure he was taking pills and snorting coke..

Same tour we went to the Sumter Civic Center. He wasn't on stage 5 minutes.
