Were any TD posters at the 1989 Hank Williams Jr concert in BR?

May 1989 Hanks concert went off the rails in a hurry. He was clearly F’d up. Couldn’t finish 10 seconds of any song he started to play. He got pissed, threw his guitar down and stormed off stage when he heard the boos. I remember him being shirtless and constantly mumbling something about Monday Night Football. He sort of let the cat out of the bag on that as it was about 3 months before he first appeared on the MNF pre game. The video here is from the make up concert he did a few weeks later. Said somebody drugged him. YT

Brother of a friend was there, said HWJr was drunk and kept saying "I got Monday Night, I got Monday Night..."

Not me, but my roommate at LSU was there. Said he picked up several ticket stubs off the floor when he heard they would be refunded. Made some extra cash from what he said.

Believe it or not. Some of us were just about born at that time.

My buddy went and was severely disappointed. I don’t remember if he went to the makeup concert or not

Yes. It really wasnt that bad. He sang a few songs and then just quit. He was back stage alot and no one knew what was going on. He sounded fine, just a little depressed/somber and not himself. We did not get a refund but was promised free tickets to an upcoming date which i did not go. It was actually a fun night.

Yeah, kept saying I over and over. I was wondering what the hell he was talking about. Then a few months later it all came together. Lol.

Glad I missed that one. I went to 2-3 of his concerts in Baton Rouge and they were very entertaining.

We had floor seats ( which I ended up hating) and it got pretty damn scary for a bit. People were setting shite on fire.. flags and T-shirts. I was worried a stampede would start.

Monday night football firing Jr. was bad enough, but when they fired Ol' Cedric and they fired Sammy Pruit that was just uncalled for.

So you wouldn’t remember the Rick James concert at the fairgrounds either. You can google it, but the short version is someone set off some fireworks and started a stampede.
