No it’s the spoons and forks. We need common sense legislation to regulate spoons and forks.

The state also scores near the bottom in education and health outcomes. Louisiana has a long history of ranking poorly on public safety as well, with some of the highest murder and violent crime rates in the U.S. over decades.

Remove black people and rerun those statistics and get back to me on what Louisiana's ranking is.

We were beat out by a blue state?

We should be ashamed of ourselves

Well Louisiana and New Mexico are two of my favorite states, so I guess I’m just some kid of masochist.

These lists and their criteria are all so laughable. If South Carolina, for example, is so terrible, why is it in the top fastest growing states for the last 5 years or so?

Iowa

Iowa isn't that bad. Boring? YES. Iowa has one of the best quality of life rankings and is a relatively low tax low cost of living states.

lol you’re a moron. Take a trip to Iowa and report back. I’ve lived in both and it’s not close.

Ya know, it’s amazing how often I hear folks talking about their travels to Iowa. I’m jealous

Louisiana is a lost cause. Too many low IQ and apathetic voters.

If you're a productive and ambitious person, you're doing yourself a disservice living here.

My guess is because we are a welfare state and little professional industry. And our taxes line pockets and support the deadbeats vs infrastructure and education and other services.

What did Louisiana do?

Feeds the NFL with good players which includes giving the league 4 of its top 10 WRs?

I love living here. There’s something going on every single weekend, the food & people are awesome, and you can do outdoor activities year round. I travel all the time for work, and the more places I visit the more I realize my life down here is pretty good.

LA rankings are always bad because we have chunk of this state that has no desire to improve their lives or educate themselves.

Unfortunate for our rankings, but I don’t associate with them and they don’t impact my quality of life.

Exactly.

Too much about Louisiana to enjoy for it to be a bad place to live.
