I'd rather live in Louisiana, but both states are better than Louisiana in any objective measure

So you're lacking in basic logic and intelligence at your family's expense. Knew that already, but you laid it out there.

lol you’re a moron. Take a trip to Iowa and report back. I’ve lived in both and it’s not close.

Baton Rouge, State Capitol, dilapidated and eroded look…sets the tone. Dear Lord. Drove thru last week and best part of experience was PI Lawyer bright colored signs high above I-10 - Acadian to College. Overlords beam!

If there is a brand manager of that city, they need rehab.

Because most of the residents are too stupid to leave

Yes these ratings are always flimsy as hell and are based on extremely basic data.

The real truth is Louisiana in pretty much every category can compare to other average states.

The large black population tanks things like education, economic rating, and safety.

I always get a laugh when liberals try to shite on southern states for being dumb and poor for some ranking, they don’t even realize they are basically being racist.

Shouldn't New York State be on that list?
There are nice people there who live in lovely countryside, BUT nobody cares about them. New York city is full of the dregs of the universe and they have such a huge voting block that the Senators don't bother with the others, just cater to the city masses. The city masses matter, and the rest of the state is just there;

Unless your entire life revolves around seafood, both states are better than Louisiana in every possible way.

We should never EVER lose to fricking New Mexico. They have peyote. We need to get some because the Livingston Parish Reggie is apparently not getting it done.

If you'll notice, the states with the highest rates of homeless people are not among this list.

Vermont is surprisingly trashy. No reason to go there unless you are skiing

If you put your kids in private school or move to one of the good public districts education is at least middle of the pack.

Essentially being forced to pay out the arse for a decent education is the issue. There are tons of states where this isn’t the case

List is horseshite. Mississippi ranked 50 in education and health? States are literally trying to change their education system to match Mississippi now.
MS has done great with improving elementary school reading, but there is more to measuring overall educational outcomes in a state than just that one data point.

The category also includes "education AND health"--and we know MS is terrible in health outcomes.

I spent four years in La. and didn't think it was all that terrible.

It seems like many folks who call it home are resigned to the fact that its problems are unable to be resolved.

I hope y'all can work to restore a bigger sense of pride for your home state amongst the masses which may help bring confidence in the possibility of effecting real, meaningful and enduring changes that will over time enhance the quality of life there.

I'll be visiting soon for some LSU baseball action...
