I noticed the story doesn't say the cops identified themselves.

Yelling at someone to drop their weapon should not give you qualified immunity if you don't make it known you are law enforcement.

Hopefully this gets her off the hook.

Ironically, she is a NY Times best selling author - in the real crime genre.

Sounds like that bottle of Stephens awoke some ancient feelings. Best thing for her would be to clean up and find Jesus.

Police said Shriner was not involved in the hit-and-run incident and the shooting is being investigated by LAPD’s Force Investigation Division.

Apparently she didn't fire her pistol so how could she be charged with attempted murder?

ETA: Her bail has been set at $1M

Good luck getting a jury to say standing outside is attempted murder.

Or worse yet, standing outside in your own f'ing backyard.

Also of note, one of the 3 hit and run people was cited and released. The other two remain on the run.

Beverly Hills, that's where she wants to be. This kind of thing doesn't happen there.

She did a documentary on one of the most unknown but prolific serial killers. It was good but she kept blaming the police for things they would have never known (the killer moved around). I finally got tired of her blatant prejudice and turned it off.
