If companies brought back pensions they could get away with alot more. I have started to laugh in older peoples faces when they talk about job loyalty. Want loyalty? Bring back pensions

Honor? In corporate America?

What year is it? There is no honor in corporate America. They don't give a shite about you, they just need you to think they do so you won't sue them.

I've been in the software space for 7 years now and this is pretty standard expectations at this point. There is a clear difference between people doing a job and people striving to improve the business.

Why would you expect that? Are you stupid or something?

I love my current company, and I tend to go above and beyond, but anyone that thinks this loyalty generally is two ways is insane. My bosses would feel bad firing me, but if forced to they would.

Lots of worker bees in this thread that bought in to the Obama "you didn't build that" mentality. I would love to see them start their own businesses.

Or companies started taking advantage of employees while dumping as many of the benefits as they could to maximize shareholder and upper management profits.

When the CEO blends that bank account I'm sure the employees will blend their work and personal lives. Dude sounds like a complete douche bag.

Give me company share of profits along with stock and I am all in, but if all I get is a salary and meager bonus he can go frick a rock

Wayfair is HEAVY on DEI. Those people don’t do shite. If I was a Wayfair employee I’d be asking what hours they are working and what deliverables they are bringing.

I have always had the philosophy I would rather make a little less money and have work/life balance than work longer hours, even for a little more money.

I work to live, not live to work.

Society is trying to call this "work toxicity" now.

I remember when Wayfair employees staged a walkout in 2019 because they refused to sell beds to Immigration because immigrant children would be sleeping in them. Wayfair employees wanted the children released to human traffickers.
Wayfair employees walked out

Have my own business! My best hire is someone who draws hard boundaries between work and home life. She is able to give her all at work and to her family. Would hire her a hundred times over

An hour is 60 min, so they can’t work “longer hours.”
They can work more hours
