The only item I've ever returned from Amazon was 2 tablets because I bought 6 when I only needed 4.
Nothing I've ever ordered has been a letdown. I've had Prime for 5 years now and order things weekly.

It doesn't take much to know that a $29 set of sheets are going to feel like $29.
I don't care much for the BS reviews on cheap items. If I order anything over $100, there is usually a review on youtube that will give you some sort of accurate description of the product.

I think I've only returned 1 thing because it arrived broken and Amazon sent me another one before I even sent the broken one back

The one caveat with reviews is that Amazon has a star system that most people rate based on one issue. Often, they leave a bad review due to a problem with shipping or customer service. This has nothing to do with the product, and if done enough will drag the score down.
The worst reviews are the ones from a brand new purchase that reads something along the lines of "I just got bought this and it looks amazing." Well yea that's why you bought it in the first place. The other reviews I hate are the gift reviews: "I got this jacket for my husband and he loves it." Ok, that tells me nothing more than it has great initial quality.

I love Amazon Prime. I use it to review most items that I buy before I purchase it and with the free two day delivery, you can get almost instant gratification. I had to order some safety supplies for a job in Oklahoma. I ordered it and it was waiting at the hotel for me when I arrived and a saved about $3 per item than buying through our supplier and the lead time was less.

Amazon is great for some people. For us:
-don't want to be forced to pay $99/ year given our uneven shopping habits
- amazon prices typically match local prices, not cheaper
- sales tax in Tn
- I almost always find $100+ items cheaper on ebay..often from the same exact seller that's on amazon. I guess eBay is a cheaper distribution channel
-free sams membership since my son works there is more convenient
- amazon deliberately drags their feet shipping items for non prime customers and that passive aggressive shite pisses me off. EBay ships from same seller as amazon promptly.

if you have more than 10 items bought online delivered to your home every year and you don't have prime, you're throwing your money away.

If you buy enough product through Amazon, then it's totally worth the prime membership. I think that's why they increased the Prime membership price.

Amazon prices match local prices at Walmart and target. Can you show me where they are cheaper? They actually change price when target or Walmart changes their price online to remain competitive. If Kroger is having a sale on toilet paper or something they are waaaaaaay cheaper than amazon. Amazon prices things at retail.
