I think your problem may the assumption that these metrics measure and represents something universal, when it actually varies from person to person.
If you gave me the the exact same item, but one cost half as the other, then the value difference would cause me to rate the cheaper item higher.

Friday, 5PM. I'm at a customer's house, they tell me their tankless water-heater is also going bad. One of the elements is out. I check and my suppliers all say 4-5 days on the part to arrive. Amazon had it for $5 more than Wholesale, but with Free Sunday shipping. Scheduled them for first thing Monday went and installed part, I charged the customer for part and shipping. They were just happy to have it done so quick.
That was most recent, many times I have had next day shipping orders to complete jobs. Many vendors I use charge $50+ for next day shipping. Amazon makes it's prime back for me every single month.
