Yep. I get what he's saying.. I was one of the last people to get a smart phone. And although I couldn't live without one now, I wasn't super interested in getting one initially.

I think with Amazon, a lot of people think of it as eBay or something still. They think of it as a place to order electronics.. special items.. gifts.. etc. But they don't consider how many regular trips it can eliminate.

I don't get grocery/food items much because I have to go to a grocery store regardless to get meat, veggies, etc. But it has eliminated the monthly Petsmart trip, Home Depot/Lowes trips, Best Buy or other electronics, etc. That makes a huge difference.

Now if only I could fill up my gas tank by using Amazon

We have Prime Now here. Can now get items delivered within an hour or two here. I haven't tried it out yet. But sounds awesome if you are home sick and craving some ice cream or something and don't want to leave the house.

This is big too. Amazon items have a really high review rate, so you can find items with hundreds (or even thousands) of reviews and know what you're getting. It is annoying to be standing in the middle of a store aisle Googling to compare products so you don't accidentally buy the shite one.

I look at Amazon reviews first for many items that I buy now.

Also many times while shopping I will quickly look on my phone to make sure I can't get the same item cheaper on Amazon.

I've used it for plenty of stuff, but two examples when it actually was very useful:

1) Ran out of dog food, and the brand is something you'd pay a ton more for at a pet store (and isn't available at grocery stores).

2) Had out of town guests coming on a Friday, and that afternoon they told us their little sister was coming as well. Ordered bedding/pillows for the extra guest bedroom (moved recently), a last minute Christmas gift for her, etc.

I understand.

I have eliminated most stores from my life, but I will never let CVS go. The CVS card saves you so much. Plus, I can walk there from home.

The only time I've ever felt misled by reviews is on products where 90% of the reviews are "I received this product in exchange for a fair review" or whatever.

In my personal experience with Amazon, which might be categorized as "a frick ton," the reviews of products not in that category are very reliable.

People generally disclose when they were given a product to do a review. Plus, unless you're naive, you can spot a fake review from a mile away. They're as obvious as a Craigslist scam.

most of the time you can tell what reviews are genuine.. plus when you buy stuff you don't always have "reviews" to go by.. and 3rd amazon has the most amazing customer support i've ever seen. you have 30 days to send it back.. it's so much easier returning stuff to amazon.. all you need is a printer.. don't even have to take the package in ..

pretty amazing. love the 2 day prime shipping.. once fedex was 1 day late with my shipping (fedex is the worst here) and amazon gave me a free month of prime because of it.. even though it was the fedex driver's issue.

Tech people know not to trust the reviews. But thats for any site: Yelp, rottentomatoes, etc.

Ive had great customer service. I've never had an item that came late or was faulty. I get good deals without spending much time looking elsewhere. At this point, you just hate them because your ego can't take the hit. Which is ironic because you look just as stupid with your unwavering hatred.

I'm like this with Walgreens. They always have sales there on items I buy frequently and I usually rack up enough points there to get an extra $50 to spend there every couple months.

If an electronic or some sort of a "major" purchase, I've already done my homework from a variety of websites and/or in person at a store. But I haven't been let astray by any reviews yet from Amazon. How any adult couldn't justify the price of Prime is beyond me. Hell, on Christmas alone I come out ahead on the cost of the Prime membership.
