The married thing is a pretty big caveat.

A single person making over $1m is much different than filing jointly for $1m. That's a pretty low damn bar for married couples if this is being framed as tax on the super wealthy.

Nah. Never support any new taxes or tax increases. it's $1 million today but fast forward a decade and everyone is paying income tax.

The federal income tax as we know it passed around 1913 was only on the "rich" and now look at where we are 113 years later.

NEVER give politicians the green light for new taxes.

That’s ironic considering those who are wealthy have more money than they’ll ever spend or need.

The greedy will leave the gates of the city, not because the city failed them, but because it asked something of them. They will guard their treasure while the roads crumble and the needy cry out, forgetting that the foundations they abandon once carried them too.

Good on Washington. These programs aren’t going to fund themselves.

When is it enough? When have you taxed the "rich" enough?

Why is the answer to never be more efficient with the funds the government has? Why not explore cutting shite that is wasteful, ineffective, or kicking the freeloaders off the rolls?

Why do you feel entitled to more money from the "rich"?

Also, can you please tell the class your definition of "rich"?

Let’s be honest. No one makes that on salary. This is going to hit home owners that have equity that sell their house. It will also hit investment income. This is a way to hit middle and upper class when they are expecting a win. And yes. It will be very hard for people to prevent that 1M becoming 500k then 200k…

Starbucks has already left the building... for Nashville.

So zero tax if you make $999,999.99 or 10% for making 1 cent more?

That's just stupid.

I'm not saying I support anything, that's just a really big and dumb caveat. Married filing jointly should be $2m if they wanted to actually be consistent.

I live in TN with no state income tax. If that changes, the state would see all of it's progress stop and start to erode, especially Nashville.

Washington, especially seattle, is known for its commerce and innovation. The state is high on annual rankings. Why throw a wrench into something that works?

Because leftists will spend until they run out of other people’s money. And they’ve run out of the OPM they currently have access to so they need MOAR.

Hear me out: Starbucks is not the haven of good coffee people think it is. It draws the same crowd that flocks to the likes of WalMart and Buccees, those content with convenience over craft. For anyone who truly values good coffee, the wiser choice is simply to walk on. Starbucks sucks, and it’s fitting they’re moving to Nashville to be neighbors with In-n-Out.

It’s a 10% tax on income above the threshold.

My wife and I are that couple. We just clear 1M in Kirkland and now our incentive to work more has lessened.

Don’t know full rules yet but seems like we can file separate
