My vote is for WWI based on the sheer number of men who met their end in this and then the following WWII conflict. If this massive loss of life had not occurred for what may have been the most productive members of their respective societies, what might the world look like today?

Imagine if France was still populated by the descendants of men who died in WWI as opposed to only those that survived or couldn’t serve?
