Warren Buffett hasn't had a drink of water in 50 years.

I remember Lou Holtz saying this same thing 15-20 years ago. I just

quote:

Warren Buffett hasn't had a glass of water since at least the 1970s.

That's what the 96-year-old business icon once told Bill Ackman, the billionaire hedge fund manager recalled during an episode of the Equity Mates Investing podcast that aired this week.

Ackman said that Buffett came over for dinner at his home "years ago," and he'd made sure to stock up on the legendary investor's favorite drink, Cherry Coke.

The Pershing Square founder and CEO said that once they were sitting at the table, he asked Buffett whether he'd like still or sparkling water. Buffett politely declined, opting for his preferred soda instead.

"But I said, you know, 'Don't you drink water?'" Ackman recalled. "And he said, 'Bill, I haven't had water in 48 years.'"

Ackman didn't immediately respond to a request for more detail about Buffett's hydration habits.

Not drinking water might sound unbelievable, but Buffett — who retired as Berkshire Hathaway's CEO after 60 years in charge last December, and as the company's chairman this September — is famous for drinking five cans of Coke daily.

He quipped in 2015 that he was "one-quarter Coca-Cola," as it accounted for 25% of his daily calories.

• Caramel Color (E150d): < 0.5% (used for signature dark coloring)
• Phosphoric Acid: < 0.5% (provides acidity and tanginess)
• Natural Flavors & Secret Blend (Merchandise 7X): < 0.5% (includes botanical and citrus oils, vanilla, and trace coca leaf extracts)
• Caffeine: ~0.02% (about 34 mg per 12 oz serving)

just sayin'

Getting to 96 is an achievement in itself. But I don't think I'll try it by downing 50 teaspoons of sugar every day.

I think I saw an interview with Guns n' Roses bassist Duff where he said he didn't drink anything but alcoholic beverages for like 20 years. I guess the body will find a way to cope.

No wonder I'm a trashy poor. I drank a glass of water right before I opened this thread.

My grandmother drank nothing but beer, coffee, and Coke. She hated drinking water and never did. She also smoked from age 16 til about 60 and quit when my grandfather died (from emphysema). She ate bacon and eggs every morning with coffee. Never exercised. Lived to 92 and was fairly healthy until then. It’s all genetics, people. Enjoy your life and eat/drink what you want. It’s not gonna change much.

I'm not a big fan of drinking plain water. I grew with delicious well water, and I just don't find most water to be good and refreshing. I rarely drink it without adding some kind of flavoring to it. I also drink a lot of Diet Coke.

Grandfather never drank water. It was banned from his high school sports practices and games, they got salt tablets instead. Lived to 94.

A close friend of mine in his 50s drinks only Diet Coke and beer and smokes Marlboro reds every day and never exercises.

He is in perfect health, no high blood pressure, testosterone levels over 600.

He also has never married so I’ve come to conclusion that men’s health issues come from women not habits

I don't care how well respected the speaker is, when I see stuff like this I just flat out plain old do not believe it. It is nearly impossible to believe. A full bottle of like dasani or somethign? ok sure yeah I'll buy it. But not even a sip from a water fountain while exiting the bathroom in a public building? not a sip from the sink before bedtime? LIKE LITERALLY NOT A DROP? I refuse to believe it. I dont' care how much water is in a soda it seems like you'd be dehydrated as all hell

Jimmy Buffett hasn't had a drink of water, or anything else, for three full years.
