It’s actually quite sad that someone would abandon those qualities and goals as being outside of their culture.

it says aspects and assumptions about whiteness
some of those are not meant to be flattering, like the avoid conflict/intimacy and hiding emotions
some seem clearly to be critical, like using the "king's english", "bland is best", "master and control nature", etc

What kind milquetoast loser uses the phrase "bland is best" when describing the food that they like? Assuming all white people subscribe to the same cuisine sounds a bit prejudiced to me. All whites = Midwestern farmers.
