What was the name of the place that was there before Walk On's? I tried it a couple of times but it was pretty bad.

It was Champps and Mugshots for sure.

Lit and Izzos (and Modesto and Rocca) are same company.

Walkons has Drew Brees affiliation, as does Smalls. That might be why you’re thinking that.

Ah thanks for clearing that up.

Yeah that was it. Walk On's is definitely an improvement over that place.

Exactly. They are corporate now

Their restaurants are all individually owned.

Brandon Landry is also involved in Smalls financially. His cousin runs it.

whenever they re-did the menu, assuming when they sold out, the food actually really improved imo

Agree.

I'm not trying to pretend this ace is a Michelin restaurant but the blanket omg their food is garbage by some of the people on this site is absurd

when did this happen? I’ve always thought their food was pretty decent

This. Walk On's has done incredibly well in a period when a lot of restaurants have failed miserably. They made good decisions on where they expand, and they found a niche that was clearly under served. And somehow their menu improved during all of this.

So whatever they have been doing - they should keep doing it.

So? It’s a great place to bring kids while you drink and watch sports, too.

I didn’t say it was a bad restaurant experience or a bad place to go, the food is just mediocre.

Can they fix the one in Town Centre first?

Ate there after the John Mulaney show Sunday night. Was one of the only restaurants in Baton Rouge still open at 10:00 PM.

Sure the service sucked and I could hear the kitchen staff screaming the entire time, but that jalapeno burger was fire and for that, I am thankful.

I saw that they took over the old Co-Op Bookstore on Corporate and used it as their corporate HQ. Kind of impressive that they've gone from having one single restaurant to having a big company with that many employees in....20 years or so?

The location in towne center is a franchise - the same group that's opening in Central. They own a lot of the outside of BR locations. Maybe all of them except for Burbank and Brusly.

Wonder why they didn't take over the old Sammy's building

That's my question, I am from Central and restaurants don't seem to be able to hang on. Sammy's, Mike Anderson, D'Angelos all came to Central and then closed.

Maybe they can't find good kitchen staff.
