re: Christmas Gift Ideas

You'd have to be more specific to get really good ideas???????. I'm shopping for college students and a husband - not sure my suggestions in those categories would be helpful. Parents, we typically do interest specific gifts. If they love cooking, playing golf, going out to dinner, gardening, etc. that's what we shop for. Event tickets are my favorite thing to give
I've been a member since I turned 18 in 1999 and am the child of a veteran.

Weird that there's no news on that crash
Weird that they are asking for people to come forward with information. Things must not be adding up. The family states they weren't allowed to see his body and that he was transferred to Jefferson Parish for autopsy without anyone getting to see him. He was identified by his driver license.

Reach out to Genesis in Baton Rouge. If they can't help, they can guide. There's a place in Shreveport that the helped us get our kid into when he was 17. CADA is the name of the place.

re: Kidney Transplants, Anyone?

I did read that if you donate a kidney, that if you or your family are ever in need of a kidney, you go to the front of the line...not sure if that's true, but I've honestly been researching over the last week after seeing someone local matching my blood type searching for a donor.

Wait, because I've looked into this and found little information about adverse side effects...

I've been considering kidney donation. Not for anyone I know, but every time I see someone searching for a donor, I go deep into researching and really feel led to donate. I worry about what if a relative, like my kids, need it one day. My husband thinks it's too risky for my own health. Did you have any crazy long term issues?

My daughter is a sophomore at LSU, but we are local so she has an apartment. Adding a dorm to her freshman fee bill last year would have been an extra $17k. It was a hard no!!
I mean I don't really want to go look again. I searched "New Orleans" and clicked on the video tab. But that was hours ago. Here is one of the less graphic ones LINK

I love mine, but my husband just bought a new one with the Sasquatch package and his rides much smoother than mine.

I pay for the premium for my kids that has the crash detection and will contact emergency services. I got it a few years ago after a St. John student ran off into a bayou at night and the life 360 alert is the only reason he was found. He was under water for a long time and had a long recovery. I don't stalk my kids on the app, but I will know if they are in an accident and unable to call for help.
There's a videos on Twitter that's not him but is being shared - not the same hotel, and dude falling on the street/sidewalk when Liam fell on an upper level, based on the pics with the red tent set up.

I will say it was a few weeks after my application before I was contacted for an interview and then virtual home visit.

Yes, I've adopted two from them. They don't have a facility - they are entirely foster based - all volunteers.
