Congrats to Landry and Warner on their success. These restaurants always seem to do very well, and it doesn't seem like the pandemic slowed them down very much.

New Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux lands in Central

CENTRAL, La. (WAFB) - A familiar, Baton Rouge based restaurant is planning to open its doors to a brand new location in Central.

Central mayor, David Barrow, announced on Tuesday, Oct. 11, that Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar is coming to Sullivan Road near Grand Settlement Blvd. in the near future.

According to Barrow, the new 6,500 square foot restaurant will seat close to 40 tables, along with a bar area.

The item goes before the Central Planning Commission in November and then the city council in December for site plan approval, Barrow added.

That's across from the Wal Mart in Central, near the CVS on Sullivan.

Looks like they already started construction. Supposed to be an ALDI and a LIT pizza going up next door to it.

I mean is this even debatable? People just go there to drink and watch sports.

Yes it's debatable if you want. You would lose. Their food doesn't suck by any means

It's Applebees with sports. Nothing necessarily wrong with that.

It all tastes like prepackaged Sisco food. A notch above Chili's.

I think there's that same pizza place next to the Walk On's in Brusly, by LSU, and in Zachary. Are they owned by the same people?

I thought Small's Sliders was in some way related to Walk On's, but I could be wrong.

Exactly. They are corporate now. They are not even hiding behind "good food".

I’ve never had a meal there that sucked. Was it a 5-star Epicurean experience? No. But for what it is, it’s always been pretty good. Service may have been off, but the food has never “sucked”.

Some of you should just stay home.

Every larger retail development in Louisiana has a Walk On's, CC's, Raising Cane's, CVS, and a Lit Pizza. If it's a larger suburb, they'll have an AG store, Whole Foods, or a Rouses anchoring it all.

It's like a Louisiana suburb starter pack.
