Their stock has taken a dump and they're circling the drain.

I can hardly wait till they stop that stupid "fan impact play sponsored by waitr" in the dome. Cam Jordan sacks the QB and somehow we're expected to believe the fans had something to do with it.

Not exactly. Basically Landcadia Holdings and Waitr merged. Waitr was valued at $300M in total considerations but it was mostly all in stock. A total of $50M was paid in cash

Either way, I’m pretty sure that guy in Lake Charles became rich as frick and decided to start mailing it in.

I was picking up a to go order today and the waitresses were ringing up a to go order from Waitr. They rang up the order on their POS it came out to $25 and on the Waitr screen it rang up as $45. None of them could believe how much of a markup Waitr put on it. A hamburger at restaurant was $8.99 and on Waitr it was $13.99. Convenience has a price I guess.

If a person uses a restaurant delivery service often at their home, they are terrible with money.

I’m sure he did do very well and got a chunk of that $50M, but the majority of his money was in stock too because he was still the ceo and chairman after the merger. With the current stock price, he lost a lot of money compared to when the stock was at $15 a little over a year ago.

only if you're so poor that a delivery fee is valued higher than your time

Part of the contract restructuring, restaurants can no longer charge one price on the menu and a different one on Waitr. This is the one issue i have with the new contract.

You are paying much more for worse food. I value my time, and consuming sustenance is one of experiences I value. I will pay more, but not for delivered food.

Or we have enough money not to care. I order Publix grocery delivery on the weekends if I have been drinking and want to make something. It's awesome and a DUI would cost a LOT more.

This has nothing to do with restaurant delivery. But, way to make a post with the sole purpose of bragging,...liz.

So they raised the cost to the restaurants and lowered their delivery fee to customers. That plan hasn’t worked. Their operations have been slipping over the pass 6 months for sure. Customer service is terrible even for the restaurants, i see them tanking in 6 months

I hate these delivery services. Takes 1 hour or more to get whatever I ordered even if it's close by. Considering the price with a delivery fee + tip I rather just go get the food. I only use it when getting the food would be a real hassle like if I've got my 1yr old by myself for dinner and didn't plan an easy dinner.

Delivery services baked into the business operations seem to be way faster. Jimmy John's can get my sandwich to me in 20 minutes consistently. In contrast, I ordered gumbo from Chimes East (I live close to both Jimmy John's and Chimes East) and it took 1.5 hours to get my food

I’ve never had anything delivered that was worth it other than pizza so I just gave up. I’ll go pick up or make something at home or dine out but delivery is no bueno.

Always half arse put together and never was anything hot.

And idiots are still opening these delivery services in LA without quality software and serving terrible markets. Entrepreneurs chasing Waitr cash are gonna lose their arse. When Evangeline Parish and Church Point has a “Waitr” the bubble has definitely burst.

Something like 75% of food delivery drivers admit they snack on the food they deliver.

Food for thought.

Jimmy Johns is also slapping precut cold cuts on cold bread then wrapping the sandwich up. It literally takes them 30 seconds to make a single sandwich. Delivery from actual restaurants takes longer for several reasons. The biggest ones being that they actually have to cook the food (depending what you order this can be 20 minutes by itself) and second, if it’s even a halfway decent restaurant, they have tickets in before the Waitr order that go out first.

Do you guys actually believe we believe this BS? Why even add this in? We get it you are lazy and don’t want to cook and your time is worth just ordering to go. No issues there.

Don’t try us with this I work 80 hours a week thing 50 weeks of the year...
