Please don't!!! Though, while I was in Europe, the food was super cheap and included tip and VAT tax of about 28%. Tipping was not expected, but when you did, they treated you like you were royalty! I always leave something if there is a tip line. I worked to-go at the Chimes (Original) for a year before waiting tables, and while never expected, it was always appreciated. People do more than just answer the phone and take an order (if they GAF about customer service). Kudos to you, Mr. Fall! Speaking of, enjoying the cooler weather of mid-80's?

If been beautiful here. Highs in the 50s-60s and lows in the 30s-40s. Perfect.

I pretty much only get delivery if I am too hungover to move on a Sunday.
So, do you plan out what you're going to get every Sunday ahead of time or do you just let the hangover decide what it's gonna be?

Waitr? Is this a food delivery service for fatties?

That sounds awfully cold!!! I just put in a built in spa out back. Sounds stupid when we rarely even get in to the 50's, but I love being warm. Enjoy your Eskimo weather, and I will continue to enjoy the warmth!

Schwan's was underrated.

Some people would be paying "much more" in lost work time leaving work early enough to actually fit in a trip to go pick up food. Waitr is only a waste of money if you make less money on average per hour than the cost of the delivery fee.
This sounds borderline nutty. When I work long hours, the last thing I want to do is wait around on cold food. I pick up on the way home on my normal route, like most able bodied people. The detour takes maybe 10 minutes. If I need to eat at the office, I sure as hell am not spending double and hoping it arrives warm. What kind of place are you going to that takes an hour out of your way to eat?
The people I know who use Waitr frequently are not highly successful professionals who might lose thousands in lost productivity picking up take out while heading home, but are almost all overweight, lazy, and are often drunk. The girls are typically embarrassed to pick up the high fat to go orders they eat all the time.

This is why you use Postmates. Fast service and also cheap.

Idk if I’m going to be ordering waitr ahead of time so it’s always a spur of the moment decision

Actually most of my friends go out to eat if they're eating out. There's a place for delivery service, but outside of bringing lunch into the office, the Waitr crowd reminds me of the girls in the Taco Bell drive thru line at 230 AM after the bars close. Waitr is not exactly fine dining.

Well that's kind of ridiculous unless you punch a clock and get paid by the hour or own the company.

Using this same thought process, it's a waste of money to cut your own grass if you make $50/hr at work. But would you be making $50/hr on Saturday from 9-10am if you weren't cutting your grass? Probably not

I mean yeah, if I want to eat McDonald's, Wendy's, or Cane's every day. Anything else is going to be more effort than a quick 10 minutes

Yeah, I'm not saying these people don't exist and I'm not saying that this is the solution for everyone. I'm just more replying to the guy who claimed everyone who uses the service is automatically terrible with money. For some people more time at home to get other stuff done or spend time with family is more important than those few dollars or degrees in temperature of the food

I'm not ordering food on a Saturday from 9-10am though either. I'd be ordering food on work days where there's not enough time in the day to get food unless I want to cut into my work time or my home time

Never claimed it to be fine diming. I never bring lunch to work, because we have a great cafeteria and I am friends with the chef who makes things like etouffee and gumbo at my request. But, nights when I don't bring that home for supper for my SO (I typically only eat lunch, I eat once a day), these delivery services work great. Not everyone wants to go out after a long day at the office. As the OP said, Waitr doesn't seem to be a good option for people who use and enjoy these services. There are others for those who do.
