S, I’m not quite sure what that bozo’s problem is. He’s overtly neophyte and has glaring troglodyte tendencies.

Sometimes I wonder about the “posters” on this board and their cockamamie replies.

A year ago I picked up a 2nd job working for WaitR...I quit in April because it's a terrible company.

Not surprised.

Some people would be paying "much more" in lost work time leaving work early enough to actually fit in a trip to go pick up food. Waitr is only a waste of money if you make less money on average per hour than the cost of the delivery fee.

This. It costs on average an extra $10 for 2 people.

It would take minimum 20 minutes to go pick up and order and come back. If I’m preoccupied getting something done it’s a no brainer. If I’m sitting on the couch watching football, then sure it’s just being lazy. But that’s ok sometimes too.

Pro tip: their app is awesome for looking at menus. Lots of restaurants consolidated into one place with pics of all the food. Also, you can order through waiter but choose pickup.

guess to each his own but I would never order only gumbo to be delivered or izzos. Between fees, tip, etc you are paying literally double the normal price if all you get is gumbo or izzos.

Gumbo, well, we wanted gumbo but didn't want to and didn't have time to cook a whole gumbo. Toddler needed to be put to bed early this day. So all things added up to takeout. Wife had to run errands. Figured it was going to be much easier to get it delivered than to load up the kiddo and drive to chimes.

Izzos.. similar idea. Was taking care of toddler by myself, wanted something quick, didn't have a quick dinner idea or prepared.

What are you using Waitr for? I hope nothing expensive because your food is gonna be cold by here time you get it

Again, to each his own. I don't have a child so I guess I've never been in that situation. My sister for one uses Waitr all the time because she A.) can't cook and B.) doesn't feel like getting the kids in the car to run somewhere quick.

I'll order whatever I am in the mood for when I use Waitr but I generally don't like to use it unless I'm spending a minimum of $50 just so the fees and tip aren't quite as much of a sting.

These days I basically only use Waitr as a consolidated menu service

Right, it's a convenience deal so it'll be worth it more for people with kids, and I've got the disposable income to deal with the delivery fees. But given the experiences I've had, those fees feel completely not worth it.

Granted I don't use Waitr as much as I once did, I've never had some of these horrible experiences people have mentioned. The longest it's ever been for me was about an hour to get my food.

During the week I'll pick something up quick on my way home or cook. On the weekends, I'll just go eat at the bar by myself if I don't have plans so really the only time I use them is on Sundays if I don't feel like leaving my house.

The last couple of times I ordered the delivery fee was $4 which is down from the $5 it used to be. Not sure if that is the new normal or I ordered on the right days. I don’t see why anyone is complaining about the cost. How has it gone up from, say, last year? It’s exactly the same or cheaper if that delivery fee is permanently reduced. Delivery can take a while. I wish it would give you an estimate BEFORE submitting your order. You shouldn’t order food and find out its going to take over an hour to get to you and have no way to cancel the order without going through customer service.

Maybe I don’t mind because I only order stuff I would eat at a sit down restaurant. I would be tipping there. So it really only feels like it costs me $5 (or $4) more. That’s easily worth the convenience of having it brought to me, even when it takes longer than I would like. I don’t think it is worth it for fast food or a poboy.
