Everyone, especially those displaying symptoms, is tested before they get admitted to a hospital. How else do you think they figure out PPE protocol for patients?

I think all but a handful of churches here either had drive-in services following social distancing guidelines or did their services online (many have been since March). Only a handful of people go to those fringe churches who openly defied social distancing orders. I don't think anyone still really engaged with their church if their church used some common sense will leave.
The big non-denominationals like Southeast Christian has been streaming services since early March. They know who fills their plate and that it'd make no sense to potentially kill off some of those cash cows.

Some of these pastors have the mindset that they will preach literally until the day they die. He might be one of those types that even if he knew this would have been his last sermon, he would have done nothing different.

The Church has a tradition of restricting public worship during epidemics. I think of the Plague in 1656 in particular, though there are many examples, including in New Orleans during summer yellow fever epidemics. In a time of internet, there is absolutely no reason to risk worsening a pandemic for the sake of putting our God to the test for healing.
American independents who think they are smarter than the Tradition of our mothers and fathers in the faith are a hindrance and a mockery of the reason and wisdom God imparts. I would even go as far as arguing that holding public worship in a time of easily transmitted contagion is a sign of Satan creeping into the church.
What did Satan do to Jesus during the 40 days in the desert? He tempted Jesus. He didn't tempt Jesus with extramarital sex or war or drugs or other obviously wicked things. No, he tempted Jesus with good things. Satan tells Jesus, "Turn these stones into bread." He tempts Jesus with power and security -- "worship me and I will give you all the kingdoms in the world." And he tempts Jesus with faith -- "Jump and God's angels will break your fall."
Jesus responds forcefully, "You shall not test the Lord God."
Christians have no right to test the Lord God. The Lord God has given us wisdom and the ability to reason. Thus, we should follow our faith's Tradition in these times and withhold public gatherings.

Dying for what you believe in is a more noble death than most people in this thread will achieve.
Oh if only he would have lived a few more years. Maybe he could have taken up posting on tigerdroppings and made some real use of his life. Instead he stood up for what he believed in and died. What a pathetic loser.

(I'm not saying that Christianity is stupid. I'm saying that ignoring all medical advice as well as the law to hold a church service in the middle of a pandemic because you think being in church will prevent you from getting a virus is stupid.)

I think this voluntary closure of Churches and denial of services to Christians by Church leaders is a huge stain on Christianity in America.
I realize and accept that non-Christians would think it stupid for people to risk exposure to a virus just to go to Church. That's fine, their opinions are theirs. For Christians and their leaders to have given up their practices voluntarily and so easily has been sad to see.
You'd be right as a non-Christian to question how much it really means to us.

I commented on the NBC article about this..I said there was a Muslim leader that said that Allah was greater than the virus and the Muslim leader died from the virus...NBC deleted the comment...

The other one? Wasn't black. Went to New Orleans to minister during Mardi Gras. He died on his way home from New Orleans.
From New Orleans. Let that sink in. He and his wife had been in New Orleans, and he felt ill on his way home. And was admitted to a hospital in North Carolina where he died.
Spradlin lived in Gretna, a small town in Pittsylvania County, about halfway between Lynchburg and Danville.
While driving home from New Orleans, Spradlin, who had pastored at several different churches over the years, started feeling much worse. He and his wife, Jean Spradlin, stopped in Concord, where he was admitted to a hospital and diagnosed with pneumonia. He was eventually put on a ventilator as his condition worsened before he died.
The BBC covered the other death.
