He practiced what he preached — then he died of coronavirus.

An evangelical pastor died of COVID-19 just weeks after proudly showing off how packed his Virginia church was — and vowing to keep preaching “unless I’m in jail or the hospital.”

In his last known in-person service on March 22, Bishop Gerald O. Glenn got his congregation at Richmond’s New Deliverance Evangelistic Church to stand to prove how many were there despite warnings against gatherings of more than 10 people.

“I firmly believe that God is larger than this dreaded virus. You can quote me on that,” he said, repeating it a second time to claps, saying that “people are healed” in his church.

Gonna be a lot of people that turn from the faith after all of this....and as a person of faith myself, I don't have a real good argument against it at the moment.

Let's be honest, he was probably going to die of it regardless. Staying in your house isn't designed to starve the virus, it's designed to flatten the curve so we don't overwhelm the hospitals. Since the hospitals weren't overwhelmed, it stands to reason he had some pre-existing conditions that would have got him regardless.

until a full medical report and family statement is released then you can't take the NY Post at their word. this is what they WANT to be true.

for all we know he died of other causes, but because he may have had a cough at the time, they excitingly wrote it off as Bat Flu. it's all speculation until facts come out.

Jordan played with the flu in the 1990s I wonder if they'll charge him with murder one day. These snowflakes know no bounds.

i'm not a religious person but i would still not blame the faith. most pastors, priests, etc. told their congregants to stay home. it was a minority of loudmouths who get off on "the persecution of the faith" who kept gathering people.

hard to feel bad for them when it bites them in the arse honestly.

Our early Christians use to pray inside their own dwellings to escape from religious persecution. Hands down the most authentic thing a person of the lord can do. This evangelical pastor saw a way to swindle money out of vulnerable people and it clearly backfired on him. Bless his soul, he’ll have some explaining to do at the pearly gates.

Mostly died trying to practice their religion, actually. Read up on how many disciples died of natural causes.

Faith and religion are different.
