I'm reading a biography on Hank Sr. Him and his wife were pure chaos.

Hank Williams Jr

When I was in high school I went to one of his concerts. I was not big on country music and just went with some friends, but he put on a good show. I didn’t go out and buy any music or go to any other country music concerts, but I definitely felt like the concert ticket was money well spent.

This is the song that left the young Bocephus behind and allowed him to step into his modern persona. It's haunting and beautiful.

quote:

I know that I'm not great, and some say I imitate
Anymore I don't know, I'm just doin' the best I can
After all I'm standin' in the shadows, of a very famous man

Spoken
As I travel around, from town to town
I have a lot of dad's fans and friends come around
They say I know Hank would be proud of you if he were here today
While we're all so glad and we know he would be too
That you're carryin' on his music this way
Yes they say Hank was the all time great
And we know you'll be just as good as your dad
But I just smile and say there'll never be another Hank Williams friends
That's the part that always makes them sad

Yes I know that I'm not great, and some say I imitate
Anymore I don't know, I'm just doin' the best I can
It's hard standin' in the shadows, of a very famous man

Spoken
So many times when I'm on that stage, I feel something go through me
And for a minute I'm in a different world, and that's when it does something to me
The people are a hollerin' and clappin' real loud, while I'm out they're taking my bows
I look up toward the ceiling and I say to myself, listen dad, just listen to that crowd
But as the show goes on, the people clap and holler more, I start to sing another of your great songs
That's the time that I know although you're gone, your music will live on and on and on

That's a technical route, not a hunter scouting for game route. He must have been drunk AF to get himself in that predicament.

That’s not the route he took. That’s just how he fell from the top.

As I recall, he was hiking with a friend and his son. He was standing on a patch of snow that collapsed beneath him, and he fell about 500’. He hit a jagged boulder that split his face. He was highly disfigured, brain exposed, etc. His friend and the boy climbed down. The friend left the boy with Hank and went for help. Some hours later, they airlifted him out of there and took him to the hospital.

A big reason he survived was because he remained conscious.

Huge Hank fan here. I've seen him over 30 times. His singles are great but as stated earlier, there are so many album cuts that should of been played in radio that are fantastic. The fall off the mountain definitely forced him to change his appearance but his first album of his own stuff had been completed a couple months before the fall. His version of Cant You See set country rock on its ear

Nobody wanted hear a bunch of leftist bimbos talking down to their fans and the American people. They didn’t get cancelled, they didn’t know their audience.

Now…. Go back to Reddit, libtard

The one I used to torture my wife with was William Lee Golden of the Oak Ridge Boys.

She didn't like him because of the monster ZZ Top beard and I showed her a picture of him before he grew it and she was flabbergasted. "He was a good looking guy! Why did he do that??" Cuz his William Lee, baby doll.

If I had a dollar for every mile on a backroad drinking beer with my friends listening to Hank Jr, I could retire. It’s going to hurt me when Ol Bocephus gets called home.

Yes.

He had started the ball rolling musically, but the cowboy hat, beard, and sunglasses helped cement the legend.

In a funny way, his transformation is similar to Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader. Skywalker technically became Vader before the suit, but he wouldn’t be the same iconic villain without the black suit, the breathing, the JEJ voice.

If a 40-year-old of Hayden Christensen’s likeness walks into the Tantive IV back in 1977, Star Wars isn’t the same. If Hank Jr. rolls into the ‘80s without the look he adopted after the fall, I don’t think he’s the same either.

Presence matters. Uniqueness matters.

Yep, you could make out the scars threw his shades.
