Veterans who feel entitled to discounts just because they are Veterans

Let me say I’m all for Veteran discounts. I 100% support all our troops and veterans. This said what is it lately with veterans or military who expect discounts everywhere they go. The place I work does not offer discounts for veterans and today had some seem legit pissed we didn’t have any discounts for them on Veterans Day. I mean I guess we just live in a society where all groups of people just expect free stuff or discounts just because.

Why shouldn't veterans get discounts? It's not like they come back home with some huge advantage in life because they did service. Most of them can't even effectively use their technical skills on resumes and let's not even talk about how they get fricked from most of their benefits and signing bonuses.l

They act like they weren't compensated for their service. It's annoying. There is a difference between respect and worship. The ones that are entitled and seek worship ruin it for the good ones.

I know about 10 veterans on disability
8 of em have full time jobs.

This country gives people benefits that haven't worked a day in their fricking life's benefits year round.

Not really. But all combat veterans should receive discounts at places like wal mart or Target.
Purple Heart veterans should receive deeply discounted goods and services.
Navy Cross should earn you hookers and blow for life.

I can understand giving back to the people that served our country but there is no reason to get pissy because you didn’t get 15% off your purchase.

I love my country, I respect the hell out of everyone who decides to serve, but my "question about vets" today is.. I wonder how the families of the people who were killed at the bar in California, by a former Marine, feels.
For some reason that situation made me question a few things.. One being.. Why the frick are we still at war?
Either way, the people everyone complains about are only a small minority of a group, but it does raise questions.
