All right man. I'm still not sure what you were trying to say but I'm going to drop it.

If I had certain intentions, one way or the other, I would not shy away from saying what I mean and I definitely wouldn't "troll" anything veterans related.

My parents were not perfect, but if they taught me anything, it's to have the greatest respect for people who serve/served this country.. So I will leave it alone as well. No disrespect was meant at all..

Btw it’s was not my decision to give or not give a discount. The conversation went like this
“Do you give a discount for veterans on Veterans Day? No I’m sorry we don’t. Do worry it’s not your fault.”

The way he responded seemed to me he expected something. If I said no and he said it doesn’t hurt to ask than it’s totally different.

Doesn't the majority of this board feel like college is a scam and brainwashing tool?

I don't like making a scene lol. I think what's the real issue is the VA

Part of that is because so many of us make a mockery out of the VA

I just had a buddy of mine get super out of shape over a six month period in order to improve his chances of being diagnosed with sleep apnea. That's bullshite.

1) If you put your life on the line for me, my freedom and my country, you can have all the free shite you want.

2) I know A LOT of vets who don't take free stuff, but I have no issue with it at all.

The entitlement mentality has permiated every sub-culture in America.

If a business advertises a military discount, then I ask for it. If a business doesn’t, then I don’t worry about asking for one.

Im get embarrassed about this. I have family and friends that point out there is "such and such" veteran discount and I tell them to shut the frick up. I'm fine. I chose to serve. The brothers I have for life and my pride in what I did is all that repayment I will ever need in my life moving forward.

This said what is it lately with veterans or military who expect discounts everywhere they go.

Because it doesnt hurt to ask

If I go buy a car or whatever, some dealerships offer discounts and some dont, whats the big deal in asking and possibly saving yourself some $$? Its either a yes or a no. Yes, great. No, ok cool. Here's my money.

All this. I dont ask for anything but I do have friends who lost limbs ect and I feel they deserve all they can get for the price they paid that affects their daily lives.

Folks seem to strongly support businesses giving discounts. Would the supporters knock 10% off for a veteran who is buying their house or used car? Would you pay your yard man or firewood man an extra 10% if he is a vet? Or should businesses by the only generous ones to honor vets with financial incentives?

The only thing I want for Veterans from the general public is to put pressure on their elective reps to abolish the VA and allow Vets to find health care in the private sector.

I have taken a few people with me to a VA appointment. They were shocked. This one single thing will improve veterans lives more than you can imagine, especially those that HAVE to rely on the VA for life or death medical care.
