You obviously didn’t pack it well enough. Those packages get thrown all over the place, ride on an airplane, conveyor belts, Chamika’s truck…and you’re surprised? That’s on you.
You needed.. MORE PEANUTS!

You brought a package to USPS but expected them to prepare it for shipping?
Yea... like when I bring one to UPS. Its pretty fricking common. I dont even have to provide a box there.
I had everything prepared, but asked for a strip of tape and got charged.

Move to an area with better demographics you won’t have a problem.

I have much more of an issue with FedEx. Quite often the package will be marked "undeliverable" before showing up the next day, when magically, it is now deliverable. Pretty sure the driver just didn't want to do their job that day.

bullshite. How do you explain them continuing to operate being billions in the red year after year? What happens to that debt? They have to “borrow” that money from the treasury each year to cover their losses….and that's taxpayer money that never gets repaid.

Stop buying Chinese made crap from Amazon.
Get your butt off the sofa and go to the store and buy Chinese made crap.
And don’t complain when your local stores don’t exist anymore. Because you bought your Chinese made crap from Amazon.
And this is the whiniest, stupidest rant ever. You want the federal government or the local police to worry about you getting a package? I’ll tell Trump to get on that as soon as this little tiff in the Middle East is over. I mean, he’s got the time.

I sold it on ebay and that was the shipping selected.
The box it was in was crushed and the plastic body was destroyed. I had it packed in peanuts, foam, bubble wrap and paper.
It was obviously thrown from a height.

Sadly we used to always trust the USPO way back when. Last 25 years it just kept getting worse. Point of no return.

5-6 times a year. I have cameras. When confronted The day, date and time are all lies…. the fact it was delivered somewhere precludes them admitting it was mis-or non delivered.

I mailed a USB stick to a friend in PA last week.
She received an empty envelope with the whole side torn off and of course, nothing inside it.

It's the govt, they don't do anything well.

You didn’t explain how they settle their massive yearly debts. Congress might not allocate money to them at the beginning of every fiscal year, but at the end of each year, they get bailed out by the US taxpayers.

quote:Trend started a couple years ago. I'd say easily more than 50% of my USPS packages get the failed delivery status "no access to delivery address" or similar. Package then shows up a few days later.
How often does this happen to you? Have never had a package show as delivered and it not been.
It's a game the workers are scamming the managers/ regional managers. They're expected to deliver within x days so instead of actually running their full routes and making all deliveries, they just scan a bunch as delivery attempted while sitting at the station doing jack shite.

USPS sucks. Wouldn't use unless I had to. Use UPS most of the time and while they are not without fault, they are better than FedEx and USPS.
But, they did smash the case of my new Stingray bass I traded for the other day. Thankfully the case did its job, but it looks like crap now.
Why do we have to pay $1 per $100 value to declare a value and get extra insurance for them to DO THEIR frickING JOB? That is the service they offer. When I pay the shipping fee, I expect the package to be on time, intact, and damage free. I'll give some wiggle on the "on time", but it has to be intact and damage free. Shouldn't have to pay them not to destroy my stuff. I'm already paying them.

That's not the issue in OP. And it's not just USPS that does this. UPS is bad about it too. They say they attempted delivery but gate was locked, or some other excuse, when they were really just running behind and couldn't complete their route that day.

My small business has 1000-2000 packages in and out through USPS every month.
I use USPS for everything possible since FED EX is an outright disaster. Tons of completely lost packages, so many more that I pay extra hours to my employees to finally locate and all at usually double the cost of USPS.
UPS or DHL are much better than FED EX but expensive. For shipments out, customers almost never choose them over USPS.
USPS is very rough around the edges but since my business is so dependent on them I've spoken to local postmasters numerous times about problems.
Tacking issues like packages marked "delivery attempted" and "delivered" often boils down to lack of scanners available for each delivery driver to have one. So, packages are scanned by guesswork like "delivered" when they are loaded onto the truck, for example.
In talking to local postmasters these are the main issues they continually air to higher ups /Postmaster General:
1) lack of working equipment like scanners
2) at the same time many zip codes are rapidly increasing in population and the amount of packages being handled is tripling, post office space/branches is being decreased and staff is being cut or, at best, kept the same
There's currently a giant smear campaign against USPS and I'm not optimistic it won't work since Amazon, Walmart, Fed Ex have all their lobbying / facebooking weight behind it. Many would say their best ally is the current postmaster general himself.
However, for all its warts, the USPS is not only crucial to Americans-- especially senior citizens-- in rural areas but to hundreds of thousands of American small businesses.
Sadly, the last thing politicians care about is helping American small businesses instead of increasing Amazon shares so the USPS is likely doomed but its demise will be a much more severe step toward the complete corporatization of America than most realize.

Sent a letter sized envelope from NOLA to Birmingham last Wednesday. Paid for 3 day. Estimated delivery date was Saturday. Didn't get to Memphiis till Saturday and got to the address yesterday. Quality work.
