I think West Virginia is the most underrated state from a natural beauty standpoint, but there are certainly some depressing areas. Different demographics but New Mexico is similar.

As I have gotten older and less worried about having to make a living, this doesnt bother me.
The non depressing areas are doing their best to destroy themselves, there will be little difference in 10 years.

If I’m choosing between WV and Louisiana id choose WV every day.
It’s beautiful

Why West Virginia?
For all intensive porpoises, West Virginia doesn't even have an economy now that coal is on the out.

All the Yankees are coming to South Carolina and ruining the state.
Boomer retirees from NJ/NYC are moving to Charleston and Hilton Head Island and buying homes in cash for $100,000 or $200,000 more than what the asking price is. As a result, the market gets fricked up. Hilton Head Island’s median home price went up 8.3% in one month this year.
It happened with Florida and it will happen with the Carolinas. Any place that’s worth a shite, people from the Northeast will move there and exploit it. Then they tell their friends and family back home about how good it is, and then word gets around to communities. As a result, more people move in droves.

Interesting. All the counties surrounding Jefferson County, AL (Birmingham) are growing. Wonder what's different in those counties?

Bunch of locusts. Progressive transplants move, feed, destroy, and then move again.

Yet, after the 2030 count the US Census Bureau wil, once again, go, "Whoopsie! Our bad! These liberal states should have actually lost a congressional seat or two. And these conservative states should have gained a seat or two. Silly us!" Of course, they'll make this admission just after the reapportionment of congressional districts occurs*.
*Just like in 2020. NY and CA are overrepresented and FL and TX are getting shorted. Funny how voting anomalies and census screwups only end up favoring one side.

Louisiana is in some fine company.
How is this possible? Republicans have a super majority. That's supposed to fix everything.

If you are wise spender Louisiana is a state you can rack up massive wealth on your accord with little liability compared to other states
The only real industries in Louisiana are trades, service, oil, government and medical. You aren’t getting wealthy in any of those except medical (doctors). Unless you own a small business, Louisiana is terrible for building a career.

Congrats LA, only state in the SEC losing population. That takes some kind of knowledge to do.

Is that Delaware gaining population?

And they bring their shitty NYC/NJ accents with them

There is zero industry in LA and the population is massively uneducated.
You can’t bring in industry with that population.

Just about all of the cities in LA have pretty high crime, and for whatever reason, fairly crappy suburbs compared to most other Southern states.

We are a socially conservative welfare state. The worst of both parties.

Damn, LA. Even we in MS managed to snatch a few new people.

Democrat run cities and states that are defunding the police and ignoring business opportunities in favor of federal government handouts and grants that get misused.
