Honestly wouldn’t mind living in West Virginia. I bet there are beautiful areas of the state and I can afford to live like a king in a house without wheels.

Yep, some of those old coal towns in the mountains are gonna be resorts soon.

Cost of living doesn't match salaries in a lot of Louisiana especially when you throw in private school cost that most middle income people in the bigger metros pay.

You can get a lot more for your money in Texas and they pay more. Mississippi and Arkansas might pay equal or a little less but your dollar goes further in those states.

East Coast living without (true) East Coast prices?

You can take a train from Wilmington to NYC, spend the day there and go back and sleep in your own bed that night.

These numbers take into consideration the millions of illegals that have flooded the country?

In general, the political climate in LA sucks which, in turn, means that the economic climate sucks.

If you can move anywhere else within the South and still do your same job, you generally will. Big exception is oil and gas, short of catching on in Texas, as LA has some of the largest plants in the world like Exxon BR.

The state has bad crime, bad sales taxes, bad income taxes, bad pretty much everything except property taxes and cost of living (outside of NOLA at least… or BR if you have school age kids).

Pennsylvania surprises me though

The county by county tells the true story. Red areas of blue states are bleeding population

Each of those ,maybe minus WV, have their major cities falling into absolute cesspools of political insanity. No surprises here

Could be a good thing if the right people are leaving. Sadly, that’s not the case with Louisiana.

Our transplants have turned the SC coast deep red (save for Charleston proper, which is a different demographic altogether).

Why would living in a state losing population be a concern to me?

Lower tax revenue, fewer jobs, eventual declining home values.

Likely, but so are the blue areas in red states.

Have a look at the counties/parishes along the Mississippi River in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

Is this one of the greatest lies ever told, or is it just a highly outdated truth? French and Spanish are long gone. Irish assimilated. There’s one “culture” left…
