re: Former Lafayette Mayor Josh Guillory arrested

So just to confirm. He didn't do anything that he personally benefited from correct? He bent the rules or did something shady to push through something that was beneficial for his constituents?
I'm sure it's completely unrelated, but he had a fake equipment rental company set up just about the time these no bid government projects were happening. Phone number for this company was the same as his campaign line. I'm sure it was just a legit heavy machinery rental business...

Changing the record
Corporate filings show Josh and Jamie Guillory created WM&N Supplies and Machinery, LLC, on Aug. 19, 2021.
They put up a website for the company that same week, advertising it as a way for customers to make buying and renting heavy equipment “easier, more cost-effective, and dependable.”
The company’s initial address was listed as a rural lot just outside Lafayette’s city limits owned by Jamie’s father. It listed a phone number used for Josh Guillory's 2018 congressional campaign and the P.O. Box he has used since taking office in 2020.

What about a 15 barge trip? That'd make it more like once every 2 weeks need to pickup.
Yea you need to go to an operator like Canal Barge, Ceres Barge, or Cooper Consolidated. Looking at a much higher HP tug now. Volume and regular shipments should fetch better rates.

$4500 / day for the tugboat + fuel at $1,500 to $2,000 / day
$1,000 / day for the barge
200 miles would be approximately 2 days each way
Add 1 day for loading and offloading
Approximately $35,000 - $40,000 / trip.

But - the risks of getting shot, robbed, carjacked or more realistically getting my vehicle broken into keep me from going back to NO.
The 4 blocks of the WWII Museum campus seem to be "safe" compared to one more block in any direction. They have a nice parking garage and the Higgins hotel is awesome.

I used a paperclip and heated it with a torch while holding it with a vise-grip pliers on a jobsite. Old timer convinced me to do it saying a needle is too small and a lighter isn't hot enough. Worked like a charm.
