different dr this time. She says reflux
This is precisely why I fricking despise doctors, man. Your poor baby girl obviously had some very serious breathing issues and the doctor diagnosed her with fricking reflux.

100%! My kids' pediatrician has misdiagnosed more than a few serious conditions with my kid that I nailed right off the bat. I used to not go into the appointment telling the doctor what I think it is because I don't want to be that parent and of course, I want the doctor's thought process to not be influenced by me since they are supposed to know a hell of a lot more than me! Not anymore! I now go into every appointment with my kid and right off the bat I tell them what my suspicion is and it's then their job to tell me why I'm wrong.
I'm so happy your baby girl is doing better now. Prayers for a speedy and full recovery.

Wow. Praying for a speedy recovery for your little girl. Our third daughter is about the same age (born Oct. 24th), and I cant imagine.

Damn dude. Glad she's doing better. Its hard not to take shite for granted sometimes and look at how blessed your life really is. Our 6 month old was colicky and I was complaining constantly about it. A lot of Pediatricians, from my experience, don't like to do much for babies.
I can recall countless times we would go into the dr on a Saturday because the baby was sick and they would just tell us wait a couple of days and if it gets worse bring them back. Like wtf. I'm here now for a reason. It would almost always get worse or they would misdiagnose and give us medicine that didn't work. We finally switched after dealing with that for so long. (and its been a lot better)

You did good. So great to hear she’s recovering

I don't blame the pediatricians, I really don't. This was such a weird and rare thing. Even the team of specialists didn't know what it was until they scoped her throat.

I hate seeing the babies all wired up. My son spent 3 weeks in the NICU and had his first surgery before he was 1 (he's had 3 surgeries now). For the first one we had to go back to the NICU. It was traumatic for me. I cried when he came back from surgery and I was holding him, even though he was fine.

So glad things ended up well for her. Dermoid cysts are extremely rare and surprisingly very difficult to find on exam which doesn’t make a lot of sense. Here’s a case report of a patient very similar to your daughter. Despite numerous endoscopies it wasn’t discovered until imaging was done.

Thank God that story ended on a positive note. I was hoping I was reading towards a tragic ending. I know the situation is not over yet, but it's trending upwards.
Prayers your way, amigo!

I didn’t read all of that because stories about babies and kids being sick make me sad. I am happy your little girl got the help she needed. I can’t imagine your mindset for those days she was struggling. I hope the best for your family.

That sounds exactly like our baby. We we're lucky they saw something on the swallow study.

so glad it worked out and sad that you had to go thru it
She looks pretty damned comfortable in that pic from this morning.
also glad she won't remember any of it.
Post a pic in 3 years or so.

Beautiful girl. Congratulations and I’m hoping for far less eventful updates for y’all.

All this is to say, you know your children better than the doctors do. If something doesn't seem right, keep at it.
There is no one that knows their child better than a parent.
Scruffy tells parents all the time that they know their child better than he ever would and if the thought of “should I go to the ER” enters their head, it means they probably should.
Scruffy is glad to see the little one is doing ok and that something like this was caught before something bad happened.
