Man this is awesome to hear! I read the entire op to my wife in this morning and just saw the update! I’m glad y’all can spend Christmas at home!

Man I feel like crap not seeing your OP at the time. We are also part of the NICU family (x2). I've already posted elsewhere a few times but briefly we've had 2 "miracle babies" and a miscarriage before each of them. Our oldest was born when they decided 29 hours of labor was as long as they wanted to wait. He spent 10 days in the NICU before coming home. My stepdad died less than a week later and after a week up there was met at the airport by an exhausted wife and a baby projectile vomiting. Pyloric Stenosis was the diagnosis so he got his 3rd scar (first 2 were tunes for collapse lungs) not even 2 months into his life. 3 months later his temp spiked to 104 and he had his only other hospital stay. He is on the autism spectrum but no one knows if it's linked to those first months.
2 years after he was born my second came out blue and was rushed to the NICU. 36 hours later the alarms went off. Ventilator for almost a week and we were told about halfway through that they basically flipped a coin on whether to place him on ECMO or not. He had to have his gull bladder out at 6 but has grown up strong. He's already made state running the 200m and is on track to start varsity football as a freshman in the fall. Moral of the story...NICU and further issues shortly thereafter aren't predictive of long term obstacles.
Our running joke to this day is about which one had the higher hospital bill. (Thankfully I worked at a F500 company with an insurance co-pay of only $500. ...Our youngest won 450k to 300k.)

My wife and I were talking about this last night. We are very thankful that our work has great insurance.
I'm not sure how we would have paid for all this otherwise.

Thank god she is ok. And no, it wasn't too long. In fact, it wasn't long enough.
Prayers and Glorious Christmas.

All this is to say, you know your children better than the doctors do. If something doesn't seem right, keep at it. All we have heard once they discovered the cyst was that this could have easily killed her at any moment. Life is short and time is precious. Keep that in mind this holiday season and spend time with your kids and family.
AMEN

I'm so glad to see this. I have been thinking about you and your family OP, it is a blessing she will be home for Christmas. I had an 18 month old in the children's hospital for a week back in September, it's agonizing as a father not being allowed to go in and see your child because of covid.

this is by far the best news of the day OP - congrats to you and your wife, and especially your Baby - may she grow up to be healthy.
when I was born, I was a month premature and had an issue with my stomach and intestines being sealed, and almost died - I was given last rights. 44 years later, I'm still here.

Was it pyloric stenosis? That was being tossed around with her for a while. They thought that may be why she was vomiting entire feeds.

6 months later update:
Yesterday was the 6 month mark since baby girl's procedure. She has been almost perfect in every way. The only lingering issue from everything is that she has yet to pass a hearing test for her left ear. The doctor thinks that it may be linked to the location of the stem of the cyst as the sinus and ear is all semi connected. He is hopeful that the loss will be partial hearing loss at worst, but it could totally clear up in time.
It's crazy to think that half a year has passed since this nightmare. I have all but blocked the entire first two months of her life from my memory. Her life began when we brought her home the second time. It is still terrifying to think how close we came to losing her at any moment and how lucky we were the doctors saw what they did.
I am definitely having a moment with today being father's day where I cannot be more thankful for these little monsters that run around my house. They're loud, exhausting, destructive little beasts, but I love the hell out of them and I am thankful for them every day.
Here is a recent pic of baby girl post surgery. I cannot wait to see who she becomes.
