Orleans Parish public schools will be virtual until October, per my sauces

This puts the private schools in Orleans Parish in quite a dilemma and will likely cause others school boards to follow suit except for Livingston Parish because its Livingston Parish.

Most plans I have seen for Catholic Schools have them sending only the effected kids and those who were within a 6 ft radius for more than 15 minutes.

I would realistically be ok with the school putting all of the non-immune-compromised ones in the gym. Misting them with COVID, sending them home for 2 weeks and then starting school as usual.

In this political climate, don't see how private schools stay open while public schools close.

Jumped on late. Who was the first feminine man at the podium? He could barley read.

And dads. We always showed up to do work and would help raise $180K a year for the grammar school mine attended.
Indeed!

I worked many concession stands, painted dugouts, assembled gym bleachers, worked the chain gang for football games in my day. My wife subbed as needed and damn near ran the lower school library when the staff librarian had 8 weeks of sick leave.

Interesting. I'm the opposite in that I don't see why they wouldn't. Anyone who doesn't want their kid in school could simply pull them.

Parents who need their kids back in school are going to pull them from the school if they don't open, and they'll make no money to stay afloat.

They also might stand to get some kids who currently attend decent public/charter schools that have decided to close.

I would say the private schools are doing what they need to do to stay afloat. The public schools will be there no matter what. The private ones need to pay teachers, loans and other staff. Public schools will are backed by taxes not tuition.

I would think if the private schools can do it, then the public ones should too. If not kids will be put into those private schools, making the private school more money.

I see a win win... Maybe even a Micheal Scott, Win-Win-Win.

It could also be that the parents of the kids who go to private school are 100% on board with sending their kids to school. They could be tired of fake online learning.

Our online learning went very well this spring and I don't think my kids missed out on a whole lot of learning.
I just know how important it is for kids to be back at school in person and everyone I'm friends with agrees.
