I'd be pretty surprised if the Archdiocese of New Orleans goes against this city decision.
The Catholic schools in BR are not doing what EBR is doing thats for sure. I can't imagine the NO Archdiocese will go virtual. People pay tuition for in school teaching.

I would hope because private schools have a lot more flexibility.

It'll be interesting for sure but this is an epic cluster frick across the board with the trickle down effect it causes. Parents will have to miss more work and the grocery stores will see a massive hit again.

It's going to be long fall.

plus the archdiocese covers a larger swath of territory than just Orleans Parish. So if Jefferson Parish for instance says, schools are a go, does Archdiocese side with JP? OP? 50/50?

Avegno won’t let them go to school whole year using her criteria

I think New Orleans had 70 cases today, she is talking about a difference of 20 to 30 cases.

Also, they will never get enough testing to test students and teachers. That is an impossible goal to reach.

I cannot imagine being a parent in Orleans Parish right now. If you have young kids, one of the parents will have to quit their job to help these kids with school work.

This is a total disaster.

Exactly. What do they expect to change between now and this arbitrary Labor Day deadline?

This. For one we don't have to worry about busses and the screwed up shite that comes with the logistics social distancing.
Smaller classrooms, easier to adapt curriculums, more common sense, etc.

This number means nothing to these idiots. Of those cases how many will even be in the hospital? Perhaps 5, or more likely zero.

I am not playing. Avegno will have to be removed from her position if y’all want to move forward in New Orleans.

In this political climate, don't see how private schools stay open while public schools close.

Easy tell the 1 or 2 parents who are worried about it that they can pay some small spot holding fee and tell them not to come. The other 1000 students can be free to go to school and not get sick or infect anyone at home

Do away with private schools and let the masses put their time and money into public schools. Mom's stay home because of no private school tuition and kids eat healthier meals. It's all a win win!!!!
