Hotel staff did the wellness check.
My brother was not in the room but his dog was. Dog is fine.
The woman conducting the check says she passed a man fitting my brother's description walking down the hall, but she didn't think to stop him.
Room is apparently clean. My mother is asking them to go look for his car.

I guess my big question is what happens when you all find him?
Hotel staff can’t stop him, unless he’s got drugs NOPD can’t stop him, and posters here can’t stop him.

That could easily go sideways in new orleans. I'd hope for no need to bust down a door, when it's at that point many misunderstandings can happen in the moment.

Sounds like he is after the most recent update. Sounds like y'all just missed him with the staff wellness check.
He's gonna come back for the dog. Best you can do is go there, or send some other family there and wait for him to come back and guage his mental state. Like others have said, not much you can do if he wants to be left alone and is using his own money to make that happen. I'd just talk with him and ask him what's going on and what he wants without being judgy about the drug use. Soon as you do that, he's gonna shut down and stop talking.

Decides not to worry about getting a new one, especially if he doesn't have a national carrier. Or if he is going to have to file an insurance claim.
