In America child protective services doesn’t try to take kids away. They will as a last resort but they would prefer to try and educate and fix the parents rather than take away their kids. I believe this is bullshite. These are grown arse people that decided to pork each other with no care of the consequences and then not give a single frick about the human they just created. Some of them do it just for the government assistance that having a child gives them. I believe we should take away kids on a much higher basis and also if you have 2 or more kids that are in unhealthy living situations you should be forced to get your tubes tied/vasectomy or face criminal charges. The problem with America’s youth is way less about our school system and more about how we allow the dregs of society to breed like rabbits then not care about their children, only to have the kids grow up the same way and continue the cycle/ rant over.

Can’t see how this hot take would ever lead to absurd consequences

People should have to get a license to have a kid. They should have to prove that they can financially support the child to adulthood and that they have the emotional stability to raise it.

And where are those kids gonna go? You realize most states already have wayyyyy more foster kids needing placement than foster parents/homes available?

Instead of tubes tied or vasectomy, every woman who is on any kind of welfare should be on Norplant. Then if she gets her act together it can be removed.

I’m friends with 2 couples who foster children in their homes. I’ve heard stories about things they’ve seen and heard from the case workers and birth parents. How the state allows horrible people to keep their kids just so they can get a check is beyond me.

Some parents fall on bad times but are the best parents they can be. Some just want a head count to keep their checks rolling in every month.

I have a simpler solution: stop subsidizing frick trophies and the breeding will magically reduce itself.

Government should not be involved.
Having said that, our government is basically paying poor ignorant people to have children when they should be providing incentives for them to not have children.

Not every child has a willing or able family member to take them. Where do you suggest they go?

It's a shame unfit people have children, it hurts no one but the kid.

Let me guess, you're a "small government conservative" but at every turn you're cheering on the state agencies to become bigger and powerful.

I believe that if a person chooses to not be self reliant (yet is capable) then they should be made sterile. The only reason they are having children is because they want a bigger check.

What I’m talking about is the equivalent of someone waving a loaded gun in your face and then having the police say we don’t need to arrest them for assault with a deadly weapon we just need to teach them gun safety. You people have no actual idea what these kids go through. Kids who get branded and beaten literally black and blue until there bloody or when they live with drug head parents who cook drugs in the house or have roaches rats and shite on the ground have the kids taken away maybe MAYBE a couple weeks and 99% of the time they are given back. All of you people in this thread just show how much awareness of this ya to be improved

We should 100% take more children away from their “parents.” The only reason I’m not an advocate of cutting food stamps and other welfare benefits is because the children will suffer as a result of their parent’s shortcomings. If they’re horrible parents, whatever government benefits they have should be forfeited and the kids should be taken away. Foster care, or even a home is a much better option for so many kids I’ve seen through the years. When you have to get to school an hour early to let kids shower because they don’t have water at home, you realize those kids would be better away from their parents. I’ve reported numerous parents to cps, and very little was done. The cycle has to be broken somewhere and these kids will at least have a chance if they’re removed from a terrible home.
