So what’s your solution? Put them in a pound, if not adopted within 6 weeks, they get put down?
They can’t find enough foster homes for the # of kids they currently remove.

The foster care system is horrible. Do a little research on it.
ETA: the cost of adopting a child in America is ridiculous. Good, loving people can’t adopt children who need homes because of cost or bullshite red tape

Plus, it’s kind of the right thing to do as Christians.
We should rely more on churches for support for such services. The world would be better off with this model. There was a time when you could not rely on the government for things as food, sickness, orphanages, etc. but the churches always stepped up. If you needed such aid, you would have to actually humble yourself and go ask for assistance. Now, we can just rely on ol uncle sam to provide for us. Plus, I get to gripe and complain about it to get more.

Well what should we do about those children who getting tortured is apart of their normal lives? If we can’t afford for them it’s better if they never exist that’s my point please do I have to spell everything out?
You don't have to spell it out, you've said enough. You think you can determine who is fit to have children, you want forced sterilizations, and now you are openly advocating for widespread abortion of children because you feel "it's better if they never exist." You're a eugenicist in the vein of Margaret Sanger. How many of these poor children you're so concerned about have you adopted?

What in the frick does government touch that goes well?
Do you not realize how this could be abused?
Why the hell do you and others think it's the government's job to fix things? When will you realize that government is the problem and this issue was caused by the government giving away free things?
Take away government interjecting themselves in everything and problems like this are fixed in 2-3 generations.
Quit being a frick tard and calling for more government.

How many kids have you fostered or adopted? If zero, you're a complete hypocrite.

Answer the question.
Where exactly do you want all these kids to go to once they are taken away from their parents?

believe that if a person chooses to not be self reliant (yet is capable) then they should be made sterile. The only reason they are having children is because they want a bigger check.
So you want the government, which I suspect you don’t trust to run most programs, to be sterilizing people using a nebulous standard of able to be self reliant?

More government!! Yay!
They should also assign you which football team to route for at birth.

Churches do operate the orphanages around me. There is the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe (my great-grandfather was raised there), and the Ruston Methodist Children’s Home. I’m sure they receive some state funding, but I’m not sure how it works. If we’re being honest with ourselves, it shouldn’t be the jobs of churches or the government to raise kids. But the fact is, the government is and will continue to pay for the offspring of parents who, in many cases, were the offspring of other shitty parents. The question for taxpayers is whether we want to continue to dole out government welfare benefits to empower shitty parents, $40,000 per year to house future inmates, untold expenses for planned parenthood and Medicaid, or take a chance on the future and invest in children now.

Would love to see more places stepping up.
What concerns me is how many church goers are quick to demonize the people that are needing that help as leeches that should be sterilized.
On a societal level we have a lot to work in

MORE Unpopular Opinion: The real solution to this problem is destigmatizing and better access of choices like planned parenthood.

Really?? That is going to fix the problem of the government rewarding bad behavior??
Just as big a dumbass as he is.
And bottom line is if it can survive outside the womb, it has personal property rights. Sorry the mother does not own the personal property rights of another life form. Murder is murder and a violation of personal property rights.
Protect personal property rights at all cost

A lot of people say this, but it’s readily available. Birth control is free. The problem isn’t unwanted pregnancies, the problem is Wanted pregnancies. Having kids gets you more money from the government and more money on income taxes. So to a single mom with 4 baby daddies and six kids, it’s completely normal for her 14-year-old daughter to be pregnant. The daughter is just repeating the behavior of her mother, and so the cycle continues.

People should have to get a license to have a kid. They should have to prove that they can financially support the child to adulthood and that they have the emotional stability to raise it
Without license you can’t bust a nut in a chicks vag?
How are you going to enforce that?
We have trouble enforcing easier things than that.
Posted on 2/8/20 at 10:31 am to Hawgnsincebirth55
There's a lot of other things they can do besides this. Just seems like more government overreach. I for one support putting more money into things like aftercare (things that help working parents) than writing a blank check to Bonqueesha and Karen.

I understand it is a slippery slope, but what other option is there?
We have class of people who have absolutely no plans on ever being a positive contributor to society, and they make their money via having as many children as possible. These children then grow up to be like their parents. It is growing exponentially. It is already at the point that we can’t pay for it. Instead of our taxes paying for infrastructure and things we actually need, we have a massive government entitlement programs. How do you solve this? How?
