I can sympathize with folks who need physical help getting around in an airport. But we just returned from a trip and I was surprised just how many people were traveling with their dogs. It had been about 8 months since we had flown and it seems there were at least 3-4 times more dogs traveling than before.

My favorite flyers are the reddit idiots that get mad because the flight can't accommodate their weird arse dietary restrictions.

The airlines have been allowed to get so shitty that it's turned the passengers against each other. Hopefully one day sedation flying becomes a thing. Knock us out and put us in racks and wake us up at the destination.

I don't mind the wheelchair bound, what I mind are those who aren't really wheelchair bound but use it to cut the line. frick them for making it worse for everyone else.

People with "emotional support animals" though??

Most of those are bullshite anyway, but beyond them... if flying without your ocelot is too stressful, then do everyone a favor and stay home.

I usually ask the airport workers if I can borrow a wheelchair for my service dog as well. The bigger airports can be too long of a walk!

Did they at least bring food and water to all people stuck on the escalators?

ISWYDT!

We couldn’t fly in, we had to fly to nearby airports!

Applying this logic also means no babies

People watching at the airport. One of my favorite things.

If someone has a legit disability, I’m all for them getting assistance. If they’re just fat and lazy, that’s not a disability. That’s a choice.

I've been saying for years that the percentage of wheelchair bound people is ten fold in an airport. Most of them are lardasses.

It’s fairly common, amongst a certain group of people that if they are going to fly, will use a wheel chair all the way to boarding because, if you are in a wheelchair, you will be first to board and first to deplane. This is all fine and well except that a considerable number of these people, after deplaning, can be seen getting out of the wheelchair and walking through the airport.

Wheelchair people are the last to deplane in my experiences.

But yeah, agree with everything else

The ATL airport should open a bar where you don’t have to go through TSA and you could sit and just watch the people walk by all day. My favorites are the parents sprinting through the terminal with their kids trying to make a flight.

They do. It’s TGICrydays. I’ve had multiple lunches there without traveling

Last time I had a new battery put in my pacemaker, which requires an incision maybe 3" long and you can't use your shoulder for two weeks, I got in the "needs assistance" line to board.

On the bench next to the line, some smartass, probably the OP, says just loud enough for most to hear within a 15' radius "I don't see how that guy needs assistance" obviously referring to me. I appear reasonably fit externally.

I turned to the guy, locked eyes with him, pulled my polo aside far enough so that the stitches were easily visible to everyone, and said "Can't use my left shoulder. Wanna come along and help?"

That got a chorus of snickers, and OP, er, smartass, turned bright red and went back to minding his business.

You can't ever know the story on someone just by looking at them. MYOB and get over it.

Have a heart. They seem to be healed by the early boarding process, and recover miraculously when they reach their destination.

Seems to be the same types that park in the fire zones when there are parking spots a few meters away.

I love elderly people but do not think they should be able to ride those motorized carts at grocery stores.

You need to be euthanized as soon as you hit 60. I always said I'd rather slither on my belly than use an electric shopping cart. Now, due to arthritis and injuries, grocery stores are virtually "no go" zones to me. About once every 2 months I go anyway, with an electric cart, I swallow my pride and give it a go.

I also love woodworking, without an electric cart, I cannot select woods or tools to use. I never go to a store when the animals are out of their cages, I only go during the workday on a weekday.

I'm not sure you deserve to live, I'll bet that in spite of my limits, I'm more productive than you will ever be.

Leaving Jackson, MS, most of the folks that required a wheelchair to get priority boarding are perfectly healthy when leaving the plane in ATL.
