Back in the 80s/90s everyone was convinced it was a secret project called Aurora based on a term in a DoD budget for a supposed black project.
I think back then the speculation was a hypersonic replacement for the SR-71.

Wasn't going to bring it up but since someone started a topic on Iran,
I was just reading that the first Inspector General report on the War was published this week and we have lost 52 airplanes in this war.
A little relieved that 30 of those were drones which I guess they count as "airplanes" but we lost several planes parked on the ground, several refuelers.
We lost a $500,000,000 AWACS E-6. It got bombed on the ground. How stupid is that?
Analysts say that the Houthis and Iranians are using Claude A.I. to produce weapons and help with targeting. How stupid is that?
We are letting private defense companies and A.I. companies dictate our our national defense, which is why we are running short on patriots I assume.
I sure hope it's profitable for those private companies to at least allow us to fight to a draw with these savages.

If a space craft can be built fly a great distance with little to no sound, why do they need exterior lighting? Just flying through the air and decide to turn on multicolor LEDs for the fun of it.
