My guess for his response after the stats came forward would be something along the lines of: “Well, these displaced refugees come from such diverse cultural backgrounds and assimilation isn’t as easy for some people. We should be more tolerant of their ways and culture, not less...*gets stabbed and dies*...”

He’s saying budget cuts are the issue. In a country that provides ‘free’, government run healthcare, and has one of the most generous welfare and pension systems in the free world. They also happen to have wide open borders, accepting ‘refugees’ and immigrants at alarming rates for decades.
It never ends with these people. They’re the same wherever you find them. Nothing is ever enough, and the implication is that white middle class citizens are always at fault no matter what.
