Dude, the platform is level here. They're ignorant racists. No two ways about it.
Having said that, I did some ignorant shite(no, not this ignorant) as a teenager. I'm just glad social median wasn't as prevalent.

Two Carrollton High School seniors were expelled Friday and won’t be allowed to graduate after a racist video they posted online went viral.
If they were not at school when this was posted and own their own personal time, then the school has overstepped their authority. It's free speech and if taken to court the two "students" wins and likely the school/school board would be cutting a couple of checks to hand out.

Based on that general principle, several courts have concluded that administrators can punish students for online communications that are:
closely linked to school (known as a “nexus”) and/or likely to reach the campus community, and
expected to disrupt school work or discipline.
For example, both those requirements were met when students:
created a social media page meant to get fellow students to harass a classmate (Kowalski v. Berkeley County Schools, 652 F.3d 565 (4th Cir. 2011))
sent classmates instant messages full of violent language about shooting other students at school (Wynar v. Douglas County School Dist., 728 F.3d 1062 (9th Cir. 2013))
wrote a blog with racist and sexually explicit, degrading comments about classmates that upset many students and disrupted classes (S.J.W. v. Lee’s Summit R-7 School Dist., 696 F.3d 771 (8th Cir. 2012)), and
posted an online video of a rap recording about two school coaches that was intended to reach fellow students and intimidated the coaches with threatening, violent language (Bell v. Itawamba County School Bd., 799 F.3d 379 (5th Cir. 2015)).

Well this thread has been rather enlightening on the jackboot authoritarians we have running around the OT.
No threats, not done on campus or in way associated with the campus or school, but it’s totally cool to expel them and deny their diploma.
The kids are racist idiots. That is not justification for expulsion.

Blacks that commit crimes on school property are frequently not punished
Link? I'm calling BS on frequently not punished for crimes committed on campus.
That being said, this seems like overreach for something done at home on their own time.
But it is also possible there is a policy in place regarding overtly racist behavior that is part of an agreement signed by students and their guardians.

Google Racial disparities in school discipline, the solution don't make the statistics look bad so don't enforce discipline. It is part of the same problem as too many Blacks in jail, the solution reduce jail beds and cut them loose with no bail.
Very difficult to expel or suspend a black, minority or special needs child. The best route is to get them for a violation on a bus rather than on campus. For some reason the busses have less protection for the miscreants, but in the classroom their behavior is condoned.

How do you not allow people to graduate, who did something on their own premise???
If you did the grade work, you graduate, unless you do something on campus. And even then, you wouldnt walk with other kids, but still get diploma.

It sounds dumber every time he says it. No real school system stops coursework for seniors 3 weeks before other classes.
Uh yes they do. Local seniors done 5/1 the rest 5/22

Is this one of those made up rights like health care?

I was going to make a snarky comment like "with the exception that if parents don't homeschool or send their child to a private school, the parents can be arrested", but then the ACA enforced a fine if you didn't purchase health insurance, even if you didn't want and/or need it.
So maybe you're correct here. You have a right to your children's education and health care. And if you don't exercise it, the government will arrest you or fine you. Then arrest you anyway if you don't pay the fine.
Sounds about right in terms of how certain people and government view "rights" in this country these days.

I already said that seniors finish 2-3 weeks early ahead of the lower grades and graduation can be held while school is still in. The school year may not be officially over but it is for seniors in a lot of places. So there's that.
It takes about 3 seconds of googling to find that we're still 6 weeks away from the school year's originally scheduled end. So why do you keep bringing up that seniors end 2-3 weeks earlier. They almost certainly did NOT complete the required coursework to graduate.
Every HS I’ve ever heard of in any state the seniors finish before the rest of the school... are you stoned?

that said, policing language only gives it more power, and that power lies in the very hands of the people who don't have a problem with using it.
It’s truly amazing that being taped uttering one word can ruin a career and/or life. There’s only one forbidden word in the English language. It’s quite absurd.

Bro are you?
Sentrius is having his period over his belief that these kids finished their coursework and deserve to graduate. Which, unless seniors get out a month and a half early, they didn't.
No one is saying seniors go to the last day of normal classes like everyone else.

How do so many on the OT not understand Code of Conduct policies that nearly every school have? Students can and have been expelled for violating Code of Conduct policies across the country for years.
