Haven't watched it but it sounds like something people would have enjoyed had Dave Chapelle or Key & Peele had done it.

How do so many on the OT not understand Code of Conduct policies that nearly every school have? Students can and have been expelled for violating Code of Conduct policies across the country for years.
Private or public school? Private then your argument is valid.
If it’s a public school then they shouldn’t be expelled for something that occurs outside of school.

Are you trying to argue that public schools shouldn't have codes of conduct? They almost all do and the courts have consistently backed them on this.

Codes of Conduct have covered this since I was in high school a looong time ago.

Whew this thread has brought out the racists and racist apologists in this thread
Who is apologizing for them? Pretty easy for you call people racists though, huh?
There is no disputing what these two did was exponentially stupid but are we really going go down this route of kicking people out of school for something like this? What’s next?
Do you see the big picture here or are your feelings to hurt recognize it?

They are saying it's all rooted together. It's their opinion that racism is a system. A system that gives advantages to whites over people of color.

They're an arm of the government. They shouldn't be allowed to punish speech that's merely offensive (as opposed to harassing or threatening).

I must have missed that section of the Constitution
No, you missed the rest of my entire post that gives what you quoted context.
Or you're an idiot.
I'll let you pick.

created a social media page meant to get fellow students to harass a classmate (Kowalski v. Berkeley County Schools, 652 F.3d 565 (4th Cir. 2011))
sent classmates instant messages full of violent language about shooting other students at school (Wynar v. Douglas County School Dist., 728 F.3d 1062 (9th Cir. 2013))
wrote a blog with racist and sexually explicit, degrading comments about classmates that upset many students and disrupted classes (S.J.W. v. Lee’s Summit R-7 School Dist., 696 F.3d 771 (8th Cir. 2012)), and
posted an online video of a rap recording about two school coaches that was intended to reach fellow students and intimidated the coaches with threatening, violent language (Bell v. Itawamba County School Bd., 799 F.3d 379 (5th Cir. 2015)).
All of those were targeted at fellow students or staff.

Public schools should absolutely NOT have a code that governs non-criminal, constitutionally protected activity outside of campus and completely unrelated to school in any way.

That's the biggest issue here. There were no threats directed at any person or group of people, much less anyone involved with the school. Having a racist opinion is not a threat, no matter how many people in this thread wish it to be.

Their video was awful, shameful, and embarrassing.
That said, I don’t know if they should be expelled for it. On one hand, I think they absolutely deserve to be punished and feel the pain of their stupid mistake. On the other hand, I think it might be an overreach to expel them for racist words on a video. Glad I’m not the one that has to make that decision, because I see both sides of it.

God its so frustrating living in a world of zero tolerance reactionaries.
Simple solution is simple: they either make an apology video - so that when they show up back at school the disturbance is minimized - or they face expulsion.
They'd have apologized.

But this isn't an option. Those kids must now be destroyed.
