The Hindus and Muslims were parts of separate kingdoms before the British Raj. India was never a unified subcontinent prior to the Raj. There were typically Muslim kingdoms in the Northwest (Mughals), Sikhs in Punjab, Hindus around the Ganges, Buddhists in the Himalayas and around the Irrawadi in the East, and Dravidians and Tamils in the South.

Today, what was once dozens of nations with hundreds of languages, religions, and ethnic groups is now 7 countries (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan), many of which are extremely unstable due to their massive ethnic and religious divisions which cause frequent internal conflict. Pakistan is essentially a military junta that is constantly at war with separatists and terrorists, Myanmar is in a full blown civil war, Sri Lanka is nearly a failed state following decades of civil war stemming from ethnic conflicts, Bangladesh is an economic and demographic shitshow, and even the most successful country India has lots of issues with Islamist terrorism and Sikh separatist movements.

Even during the Raj, there were hundreds of princely states.

Yes, this one has much more of a chance of going nuclear than most other wars.

Both countries are over populated. Might not be a bad thing

These two could literally throw 100's of millions of poor people into the front-line meat grinder.

I had to visit a company owned by Pakistanis a few months ago and they wanted me to eat Pakistani food with them. When I asked if it was like Indian food they scoffed.... "We use some of the same spices but you know why Pakistani food is better? We eat BEEF." I'm with the Pakistanis on this one because Beef is worth fighting over.

People should really credit, or mention, that they're posting AI-generated content.

I'm honestly not. That's just how I post and explain things. You can ask anyone, it's kinda been my schtick on this board for a long time.

His post was clearly not AI. It may be a surprise to you, but some people know things.

Thank you. If only someone would pay me for it so I wouldn't have to dish out my geopolitical/economic schizoposting on here for free.
