Seriously thinking of getting one. At 1st glance it's certainly expensive and wasn't sold on the idea of spending that much, but saw one (Original Gen 3) on the river this weekend and sounded great. If I pull the trigger I might as well get the Grande 10 inch speaker for $800. Id rather spend that amount versus $3-5k to upgrade boat speakers. I like that it floats, portable, and looks like it can take a beating.

Any thoughts from current owners?

I have the original and it's been great. It's fallen out the back of the car several times on concrete and keeps on kicking. Battery life is good and sound quality is good.

Save the 300 bucks and pick up a Dave Ramsey book instead

You can get an identical product for 40 bucks

I told my buddy he was crazy for buying one.

Listened to it all weekend at the lake and it's legit.

I use my gen 2 as a boat speaker instead of replacing my actual boat speakers and it works great.

Have a neighbor that works for them and he brought a set up of 4 grandes out to an event and they were awesome. The bluetooth on the gen 2's only works like 10 feet away and can only connect 2. But we had the grandes at least 50-60 feet apart and there were no issues, and you can connect a bunch of the gen 3s together.

I have a Gen3 and I love it. Loud as shite and the battery lasts forever. Good audio quality as well.

I have a Gen 2 and just got the ranger as a gift. I wish I could pair them, but they are great speakers and the customer service is top notch.

I have the ranger that I love. It has the magnet on it that I use while playing golf and anywhere else. Super solid speaker. I don’t think I could break it if I tried

Is this the man-equivalent of the Stanley cup fad for women that happened a year or two ago?

$800?!? That's fricking stupid to pay. You can build one with all the bluetooth features for about $100. One of my coworkers makes them and sells them for $200, and they sound great, have great battery life, and you can pair them.

$800 is just dumb to spend on a speaker. Hell, my $75 JBL Flip gets loud AF without distorting, and I've used in in the boat so many times

Yes. All started with the YETI craze.

JBL and Sony make floating waterproof speakers for less than $200.

I have the $150 Sony, and we can hear it in my boat even when running 50+ mph on the way to Sun Buns. It has plenty of volume and bass boost.

love my JBL flip and they sound great when you pair multiple.

Turtle box sound great and are super durable and customer service is top notch. They have done a great job marketing those things. I didn’t realize they were so expensive.

If you want to spend that kind of money definitely look at Thodio audio. Their ammo can speakers are probably the best Bluetooth speaker available.

pretty much...the outdoor Bluetooth speaker market is pretty flooded but if you don't have a turtle people won't know how much you spend on it so whats the point?

It’s wild that so many people have that mentality. Don’t Americans currently have the highest debt rate ever?

Mine is currently floating in the Gulf of America. It’s expensive, but great sound and tough.
