Turning 40 sucks: Do these Vuity eye drops work if you don't want to get reading glasses?

Man turning 40 is a game changer. Random body aches. Takes so much longer to recover from an injury. But those are topics for another day.
My problem right now is my eyes are rapidly losing its auto focus abilities. I'm unable to focus or read things up close. I'll be looking at the TV, and then glance down to my phone and it takes my eyes literally take a couple of seconds to focus and even then I have to stretch my arm to read small text. I understand this is a natural part of aging and is called presbyopia. I don't really want to wear reading glasses as my distance vision is perfect. I got my lasik done in my early 30s, and don't want to go back to wearing glasses this soon.
So do these Vuity drops really work? Are insurances still not covering it? $80 bucks a bottle for something that lasts a month may not be that bad if I can get away from getting reading glasses.

Dude, I’d give my left nut to be 40 again. I turned 50 this year and went into a mini-depression until my 75yo Dad told me that, “getting old ain’t for pussies”and that he would kill to be 50 again.
But yeah, I can’t see shite anymore when it comes to reading small print…I invest in a $20 pair of cheaters every couple months or so and just had to accept it.

Short answer. No. Any drop that would reshape your lens and other eyeball structures to help you see, would hurt like a mother. And probably cause eye cancer.
Buy whatever glasses you ever thought might look cool on you and keep living. Or pay for LASIK if you’re eyes can benefit from it.

I made it to 47 and I broke down and made an eye dr appointment. My vision wasn’t horrible but glasses were a game changer for me.

Made it to almost 45 before I broke down and got some reading glasses. I'll go see the eye doctor at some point

Vuity does work a little however it's not very cost effective.
I find patients get 3-4 hours of reading with a drop however the reading isn't always perfect. If you use a 3-4 hour dose schedule which is more than recommended your bottle will last much less than a month and yes it's all out of pocket.
IMO it has a use for special functions like parties and such but as a replacement for reading glasses there unfortunately isn't a drop or surgery for that yet. Contact lenses could be an option for you to avoid glasses.
Ultimately tell yourself how thankful you are that you haven't needed glasses like many of us for the past 40 some odd years.

My Optometrist says that for men around the ages of 40 this is perfectly normal and expected as the muscles around the lens lose the ability to focus as they become weaker as we age.

Same, however, they do make glasses that allow you to see up close and have less of an impact on your looking further away. It does take some adjusting and patience to get used to.

PS - I turned 40 last year and feel like I can do everything I did when I was 28
