They were nearly wiped out before US and Russia got involved. Wanna know which ground troops killed more ISIS than anyone? Syrian army and Iraqi army.

I am shocked at how many leftist now support military intervention.

So are you defending the knowledge of Trump's military advisors, or are they failures who Trump should ignore? Because he went completely against their advise and you guys can't seem to make up your mind on what stance to take...

Not only do some people do the above, others will always assume the most negative stance possible on any topic politic-related.
Not necessarily saying Trump has been 100% correct in his actions here, just that some people will hate it no matter what.
“Some” people might be that way. But I am not. I evaluate the actions of our leaders using my best effort not to be biased.
I voted GWB but did not support the Iraqi war, I voted against Obama but did give him credit for the decision to attack UBL. I voted Trump but see way too many instances where he backs down to Russia. Love his stance on China

It’s like half the people in this very thread googled Kurds the other day and are now pretending to be shocked. This shite has been going on for so many years. Turkey was attacking Kurds in northern Syria not long ago and nobody said a word

Well those military advisors are the ones who’ve already cost us 1,000s of American lives for absolutely no reason in Iraq and quite a few lives in Syria.

Agreed on this point. I have followed the Kurds since the Kobane campaign and Turkey has always been angling to find a way to support ISIS and kill Kurds. Liberals who are just now talking about supporting Kurds are super hypocritical, same aspect as liberals complaining about putting illegal immigrant kids in cages when that started in the Obama administration and they didn't say a thing.

The US military advisors will always want war

So Trump is smarter than the Pentagon. Gotcha. Good to have that on record.
Such great and unmatched wisdom

When it comes to the Middle East the average person in this thread should be smart enough to realize our influence in the Middle East has been a disaster.

he wanted to invade, send in nukes

Yeah the more I look into this the more I don't like it. Of course getting out of the middle east is ideal but this isn't even a total withdraw out of Syria. All this is is letting our allies get slaughtered. And it's refreshing to be able to take such a stance with out 100 Trumpkins from PT getting pissy

The military, CIA, and his own party advised against this move
People keep saying this, but really it's just 'individuals' in those agencies advised him against it.
They don't report on how many or who advised him the opposite. The "advisers" also don't have all the information or have to deal with the diplomatic and political fallout like the president does.
Also, these same "advisers" would have us doing the same things we had been doing for decades. How's that been working out? Pulling US troops out was the right long-term answer, we never needed or wanted to be there forever. The timing should be the only thing in question.

There is an astounding level of faggotry on the OT

Every one of y’all, if you have a young son, would be absolutely pissed off if he had to go do a tour in fricking Syria of all places. Not going after Osama Bin Laden, or terrorist who planned 9/11. No going to Syria and being in harms way to protect some Kurds, who in a damn near daily basis shoot rockets into Turkey cities killing innocent people. On top of that in Arab areas they captured from Isis have killed many women and children who weren’t Kurdish. These same people fled ISIS and left Yazidi women and kids to capture in Iraq. Wouldn’t even help them escape or stay and fight to protect them, but they weren’t Kurdish so frick em.

Our troops weren’t in Syria to begin with to protect Kurds from Turkey, they were there to assist fighting ISIS. And I voted for Obama. I support trump with this
