You're best thread yet. Buc-ee's Blows.

People have an emotional attachment to Buc-ee's for some reason.....kind of reminds me of Boomland in Missouri.

Friend,
I feel like your disappointment and trepidation is misplaced. Buc-ee’s is not intended to be a high-end department store like JC Penney or Academy Sports and Outdoors. Nor is it trying to compete with fine dining establishments like Saltgrass Steakhouse or Applebee’s.
Buc-ee’s is a wonderful place. The barbecue sandwich is delightful when you are hungry and have been driving that 2019 Yukon Denali for 4 hours with children fighting in the 3rd row. While the Beaver Nuggets will not provide you with the nutrients your body needs to perform at peak levels, the sugars will give you the burst of energy you desperately need in order to stay awake behind the wheel and make it safely to Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Miramar, or Panama City Beach.
The last time I was at this particular location I acquired several high-end Salt Life long-sleeved t-shirts. I have not been disappointed with the quality of the shirts. They have retained their color well and have remained true to size. When I wear the aforementioned shirts, Mrs. Woods can’t seem to keep her hands off of me.
Finally, while most of us would prefer not to refuel at all, Buc-ee’s makes the experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. You can always find an open pump and a trash can that isn’t overflowing. You also don’t have to worry about 18 wheelers, the trash that occupies them, and the trashy, godless women they attract.
I hope you reconsider your opinion of this American treasure.
Thanks,
Tyga Woods

quote:I would hope that at least 1 person at an OTGT would be smaller than the smallest in the last photo of Bucee's. Looks more like a "Heifer's and Larger R' Us" convention. No wonder the parking lot is full of oversized vehicles, the occupants are all over sized. Mumu's for the moo moo's should sell well.
So that's where the OTGT was today.

Sir, I usually enjoy your posts, but this one deserves for you to advance directly to Sonic for a knuckle-check. Do not pass-go. Do not collect $200.

You missed the mark on this one. My wife and I just renewed our vows at the Buc-ee’s going to Gulf Shores on Memorial Day weekend, it was an unimaginable event. We also got most of our Christmas shopping done.

Instead, the crowds are of tattooed smokers in lifted Chevy trucks with exhaust pipes that are as wide as a water main and tires extending beyond the truck’s body.
The irony of this statement is that most of the people in this particular Buc-ee's are heading to/from the beach from Lousiana and Texas.
If you don't like it, there's a Love's Truck Stop at 59 where you can gas up and get the fam some Arby's, or drive to the next exit to the Oasis.

I’ll admit the one in Alabama sucks. Stopped there in February and went to get the burrito and they don’t have them. frick you bama. Come to Texas and enjoy. I can’t pass one without stopping

Your assessment of the beaver nuggets is absolutely correct, sir. One of the most over rated things I have ever tried. I felt fortunate that I tried someone else’s and did not waste my money on that crap. The correct snack to purchase is their gummy bears. Whatever they do to that fructose syrup is perfection.
The issues you noted in item #1 have nothing to do with Buckys. Have you ever been to any other place in that part of the world? Same story. It’s a trash area full of trash people and buckys is not pricy enough to keep them away. I do not observe large numbers of similar clientele at any of the locations near me.
Overall I’m slightly above neutral on buckys. If I need to stop I’ll pick it over a loves or similar, but I’m not making a stop just because it is there.

I will put my $0.02 in about Buc ee's. I was there today, at the one in Alabama right before the Fla. line. We went to Destin Wednesday and stopped there on the way. We got there at about 8 at night and it was pleasant. Uncrowded, good place to get gas and make a bathroom stop. No complaints. But this afternoon at about 1:00 it was a madhouse. There was a traffic jam on the Interstate because of people going there. Inside it was absolutely jam packed, Some people were wearing masks but social distancing was not a consideration. They do have pretty good bar BBQ though.

Friend,
There are many things in life that bring me joy. Your top ten lists are certainly one of them.
Few things in life bring me the joy I feel when I roll into Buc-ee’s with an empty tank, hungry and prairie-dogging. It is a veritable oasis in the desert of disgusting rest stops with uninspired food options and full gas lanes. I hope you reconsider your opinions on this deeply beloved chain, and know I await your next top 10 list with great anticipation.
Yours in Christ,

Went to Buccees today. Gas was 50 cents cheaper than my stations at home. They even have non ethanol gas. Didn’t know you could sell it in dfw. Ennis location. I do stop at Terrell location on occasion, have a farm in Van Texas
