Kid I knew outhere was 6'5" 215 and threw low 90's. I knew him since he was 9 years old and he was throwing curve balls at 12 years old got a full ride to UNF here and was done his sophomore year. He had 2 surgery's on his throwing shoulder.

I was a pitcher that had some college aspirations and they wouldn't let us throw them until we had hair on our balls. Doesn't seem like that was at 12 but maybe I'm just old and don't remember.

This wasn't even travel ball at the time yes it was rec ball. He had alot of strike outs but yes he shouldn't have been throwing curve balls at that age. He didn't throw alot of them but he did throw them.

Puberty is probably a bad judgement now. That was kind of the general rule when I grew up but it seems kids hit it earlier than we did. Hormones in food or whatever but it's absolutely true.

The obsessions of the OT really are amazing.

Travel ball
Interracial relationships in commercials
Hating F-250s/truck nutz
Hating Tesla/Elon Musk
Johnnys Pizza
Boeing Airplanes
Jody
Plant Operators
Pit Bulls
Houston
30A
Anything related to mowing the lawn
Refrigerator repair
Welsh, Louisiana
Ferriday, Louisiana
Tornados
Cruise ships and cruise ship accidents
Best places to take a shite along I-10
Confederate Statues
Brooks Brothers semi-annual sales

Well those really aren't obsessions so much as they are a variety of really diverse and fascinating topics.

Definitely these kids today are just bigger end of story. Hell I graduated high school at 17 years old and weighed 140lbs soaking wet and stood probably 5'8". Luckily other areas well... nvm

Most of these travel ball dads were an OT wet dream. Cargo shorts, fat, most of the vehicles they drove in are either full size SUVs or crew cab pickups, most of these guys dip too and all thi k their kid is gonna go far.

It's kinda sad.

Each of those topics seems to be highly relevant for this area of the country as well.

Watched this clip today LINK and started reminiscing on the good ol days when your parents never thought their kid was good enough for D1 but would threaten us if we didn’t play like we were.

No travel ball back then, just summer league that was done by June and the rest of the summer was riding bikes around town and playing ball in the yard.

My kids won’t be living the travel ball life. I see to many wasted childhoods in that lifestyle.

Sound kind of cool to me. Like a dude that would come over to grill with his old lady, bring a 12 pack of bud heavy and not bitch about my cigar smoke.
